Went with friends visiting from Italy, and was totally disappointed. It took a while for someone to come by and take our order. The service was erratic, and had to keep getting the waiters attention. We ordered meat for our main course, and it tasted like lamb. They obviously did not clean the grill before they put the different meat... More

Unfortunately we went at a time where the stone crabs werent fresh and so our waiter recommended a serve of king crab as well as the local. The king crab was superb and the local crab being slightly powdery - but hey it was frozen. I imagine that the local crabs would be amazing fresh. Its a pretty expensive dinner... More

My Wife and I went here upon several recommendations from locals. The resturant has been around almost a 100 years. The seafood is excellent We had fresh Alaskan King crab legs and they were unbelievable. We had there Crab cakes as well again this was spectacular. We finished the night with Key lime pie which I really don't like and... More

Summer is a chance to get in the door at Joe's. They change their menu and the servers wear more casual uniforms. In winter they were full tuxedos with a line around the corner to get in, first come first serve, no reservations, hence the reputation of having to pay the maître d' to get in. It is a little... We enjoyed succulent stone crabs at Joe's. We were fortunate to be seated right away in the bar area. Our server was attentive and quick. All to the appropriate level and timing ( we are not sure where some of the negative posts came from). Be sure to dress appropriately for the main dining area (if that is where you... More

Heard about this place so many good things. Decided to try one day and when my friends came visit me we went there. We all love seafood, and I know for a good quality of food and service you gotta pay. But the service was terrible, we didn't feel like we were pleased to be served... And the food is... More

I went to the restaurant expecting a great meal and willing to pay for it. Unfortunately I got a basic meal that I was not impressed by. The good was not that good, chicken was greasy, stone crab was not fresh, fish was ok, clam chowder was ok, salad was average, the best part was bread they served... I was... More

I went here expecting some good food. The food was OK. The customer service from management was horrible. I have worked in the restaurant industry for several years. Apparently if you wear blue shorts you cannot go into the main dining room. That's not a problem except when you see a teenager with a family go into the family room... More

The food at Joes is excellent, but in my opinion, this is not what makes this restaurant a gem above the rest. That distinction comes from their attention to detail, superior professionalism and family like atmosphere. This was my first visit to Joes, but I promise it won't be my last.

A local and venerated establishment that's been there a very long time. My father in law, now 87 remembers it how it once was incredible food of astounding proportions at very accommodating prices. My wife and I went cause everybody should ONCE. The food was bland, small portions and very expensive. Still visiting a historic site while it lasts is... More
