very busy when we arrived but managed to get a seat. We had to wait a while for our order to be taken and then another quite long wait for the food to arrive, but the women behind the counter kept us entertained with their arguing and shouting at each other, even though we could not understand what they were... Absolutely love the food. Reasonably priced Cuban food. I enjoyed every bite of my pupusa, smoked pork chops, plantains, beans & rice. The only down side is the slowwwwwwww service. The waitresses have no sense of urgency. But the excellent tasting food kind of makes up for that. Overall I loved the food

This is a simple place so I'm going to give it a simple review. Playa Cafe is all about cheap Cuban diner food. Pressed sandwiches on Cuban bread, rice and beans, plantains, thin fried steaks and so on. The women working at the counter and in the kitchen remind me of my own family. They are almost constantly shouting at... More

My husband and I are on vacation with some friends who enjoy Cuban food, we have never ate Cuban, and had heard of this place from the locals. We ate here first for supper one night, nothing fancy, but great food. The price is excellent so we decided we need to come back for breakfast-loved their pancakes.

This little narrow restaurant on Washington just North of 15th is the best place for standard breakfast I've found. For those mornings after a long night, this is the place to go. No tables, just sit up at the counter. The breakfast special is $3.49. 2 eggs. french fries, sausage, ham, or bacon, cuban toast and coffee (american or cuban),... More

We love Cuban food and eat it any time we get a chance. We stopped in to the Playa Cafe during a recent trip and were not disappointed. Authentic, bountiful, and very affordable. Our late lunch was so good, we decided to return for breakfast the next morning.

A large wrap around no frills sorta run down bar to order and eat at. Banana wrap tamales and plantains were authentic but tamales were mainly masa not a lot of meat! Latin juke box and local men drinking beer. Not a bad meal or experience but nothing to write home about!

Great food but one of my friends got her food like a half an hour after 8 of us have reccived our food & we don't wait to eat so we have to wait for her to finish. We all ordered together can we get our food together, I'm just saying? Food was wonderful all & all.
