Great South American restaurant

They just moved a couple of blocks to this new cavernous space, a bit dark and not inviting. Service was very friendly, food was ok, ceviche 6 sampler was tasty and the tapas assortment ok but nothing I've never had before and certainly not particularly well presented. Ok for Washington street in Miami.

We were down in Miami south beach the night before for our Sky Norwegian Cruise Line cruise to the Bahamas. Bolivar was the most highly #1 Yelp rated restaurant in the area so I decided to have dinner here. Bolivar is mainly a Columbia restaurant with other alternative South American cuisines. Kathy and I were immediately seated even though we... More

We picked this restaurant cause in TripAdvisor said $$, means not expensive. Well...it is. The food is good, don't get me wrong. Service was also good from the hostess to the waitress. Good singer on that stage. The food took a long time to come...two principal dishes around 40" wait and the restaurant had 3 tables to serve! Picked lemonade,... More

Food was fantastic, loved the variety. We tried 4/5 different things, and they were all awesome. The server was very attentive. The only downside was that it was very loud because it had live music.

What a delightful little dive. We had tapas there on a Monday night. The beaten strip of South Beach is loud with mediocre food and really watered down drinks, but two blocks over on Washington St is a hidden world is delicious food and drinks worthy of their names! The atmosphere at Bolivar is 'South American cozy' with dark wood,... More

Delightful, delectable, cozy are some of the words come to mind when I think about our experience at Bolivar. We enjoyed the Columbian Refajo drink, a cocktail made of beer and soda!. It was delicious. Tapas was a good way to taste many items. We tasted Empanadas, Corn Cob, and Corn Cakes served with 4 sauces. Tamal Vullana, a type... More

We grabbed a Colombian beer and then picked up the 7 Tapas for $33 for 2. It was the perfect amount of food for two and provided a great sampling of some of their best options. The individually priced tapas can get quite spendy very quickly but the package was perfect and filling. Great culinary adventure eating. Highly recommend!

Tasty and well prepared South American food. The only downside was it seemed be getting ready to move down the street so the decor was a little thin. Shouldn't be an issue in the future. Wait staff was excellent and prices reasonable.

This place is a hidden gem off the main hub and buzz of Miami. It has awesome decor. Authentic vibe. Menu is full of a variety of Colombian, Argentine, Chilean specialities. Great reasonably priced wine. Fun night out with the salsa and singers. And the service is worth a mention as it's great too!!
