Description: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner Michael Schwartz, with prices designed to encourage frequent dining. This unpretentious bistro seats 90 indoors and out, with another 14 seats at a handsome bar. Doubling as a casual neighborhood dining spot and a culinary destination, the bright, airy space in Miami’s evolving Design District showcases Schwartz’s trademark new American cuisine at prices designed to encourage frequent dining. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu is chock full of choices encouraging everything from a light bite to a multi-course feast. A quick glance at the menu and Michael's intentions for this restaurant are revealed. Notable is the frequency of the word homemade in the descriptions of dishes -- be it pasta, French fries or rabbit terrine. At the same time, Michael's takes advantage of the Chef’s decades-long relationships with winemakers to offer diners the opportunity to try a variety of wines at great value.

Booked MGFD after reading about it on TA and having it conformed by Miami cab driver and staff at Four Seasons. Lived up to the reviews. Really interesting menu with lots of local produce, quirky dishes and super flavours. It's located in the uber-cool Design district so great for people and car watching too!

Four of us feasted here with fresh oysters, octopus, grouper beef short ribs, and pork shoulder. Everything was incredibly delicious with little twists that set this restaurant apart from the others in our visit. Our guests loved the cocktails and the desserts were delicious. When I explained that as a diabetic I could not eat any of the desserts, the... More

This was our first visit to this restaurant and unfortunately we were not pleased. For starters our table was very small for a party of six, but we managed. Our food came out at different intervals so some of us were done with our meal before the rest of our party was served. Two of the entrees were served cold... More

Michael's Genuine Food & Drink is a casual, vibrant neighborhood bistro and bar in the heart of the Miami Design District, where friends gather to enjoy simply prepared dishes made fresh from local ingredients. Delicious food and good selection of vino. Highly recommended www.michaelsgenuine.com

If you go to Michael's and you do not eat the bucatini you are seriously missing out, also the house made cheese is to die for. Really awesome food.

We saw this restaurant on a couple of food network episodes and thought we'd better try it on our recent visit to Miami. The whole experience was fab! Our appetizer was a fresh Miami peach with creamy burrata cheese drizzled with olive oil, salt and pepper and basil-- omg, we could've eaten a dozen of them. I had the short... More
