Description: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner Michael Schwartz, with prices designed to encourage frequent dining. This unpretentious bistro seats 90 indoors and out, with another 14 seats at a handsome bar. Doubling as a casual neighborhood dining spot and a culinary destination, the bright, airy space in Miami’s evolving Design District showcases Schwartz’s trademark new American cuisine at prices designed to encourage frequent dining. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu is chock full of choices encouraging everything from a light bite to a multi-course feast. A quick glance at the menu and Michael's intentions for this restaurant are revealed. Notable is the frequency of the word homemade in the descriptions of dishes -- be it pasta, French fries or rabbit terrine. At the same time, Michael's takes advantage of the Chef’s decades-long relationships with winemakers to offer diners the opportunity to try a variety of wines at great value.

We only had lunch in this restaurant due to shopping in this area and one of the shops said it was ok for a bite to eat. The food was average, the service was ok, would I eat in this place again more than likely not, but if you are shopping and need a quick snack then it's ok.

I really enjoyed my lunch at Michaels. I had the gazpacho and the pastrami sandwich. For dessert, I had the lemon icebox. I was really impressed w the quality of the food. Each dish was better than the next. Our server was attentive and very friendly. I liked the atmosphere outside on the patio. I would definitely go back.

We live in the edgewater area and always head to the beach for dinner for some reason. Then we discovered micheals. Some of the best food in miami. The BLP salad is too good for words. Then treat yourself from the extra large section of the menu and get the T-bone steak. It will change your life!! Amazing drinks, homemade... More

I used to spend a lot of time in Miami a few years ago, when I first discovered Michael's Genuine Food & Drink and kept going back for the excellent food. I think this is where I discovered burrata, which was beautifully and simply served with perfect tomatoes and olive oil. Back then, I thought the lunch service, with its... More

I was so glad to have a business lunch at this restaurant today. It is always good. I started with pork belly...melt in your mouth good. Cobia ceviche, fresh and delightful on the palate. and then I had the Poulet Rouge...scintillating chicken. Finished the meal with two sumptuous desserts that we 6 shared. Having met Michael a couple of years... More

Great location and neighborhood. Had brunch with family and friends. Service is good and well organized also when fully booked. Tasted amazing egg Benedict's, pastrami and pizza. What made me very happy is that finally someone embraced the philosophy to focus on quality rather than quantity. I recommend it and will return for sure. CIAO
