Description: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner...
Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner Michael Schwartz, with prices designed to encourage frequent dining. This unpretentious bistro seats 90 indoors and out, with another 14 seats at a handsome bar. Doubling as a casual neighborhood dining spot and a culinary destination, the bright, airy space in Miami’s evolving Design District showcases Schwartz’s trademark new American cuisine at prices designed to encourage frequent dining. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu is chock full of choices encouraging everything from a light bite to a multi-course feast. A quick glance at the menu and Michael's intentions for this restaurant are revealed. Notable is the frequency of the word homemade in the descriptions of dishes -- be it pasta, French fries or rabbit terrine. At the same time, Michael's takes advantage of the Chef’s decades-long relationships with winemakers to offer diners the opportunity to try a variety of wines at great value.

Stopped for lunch while visiting the Design District for a great lunch. I was here a few years ago when the DD was just starting and Michael's was the only really foodie restaurant around and I'm glad to say it is still one of the best restaurants anywhere I've been. Food is fresh, carefully prepared, and always special. Pizza and... More

Love this place. Real fresh local sourced food served up to share. Every dish we tried was outstanding. The pork belly was crispy and tasty. Had a great French cremant rose that paired well with all the dishes we tried. We tried his restaurant on the Oasis of the Seas, 150 Central Park and loved the flavors. His flagship restaurant... You have to visit this awesome restaurant. Everything from the decor to the service were impeccable. We enjoyed the short rib sandwich, eggplant hummus with homemade pita, heirloom tomatoes with the creamiest burrata ever and melt-in-your mouth pork belly with kimchi. Yummy!!!

I recommend reservations, but overall great service and refreshing to have a server know the menu and have great recommendations. Very relaxed environment and a great menu. I will say it is pricey but so is everything is the design district so I was not surprised. The Greek Lamb plate was great, but I will say there home brew sundae... More

Went for lunch on a Friday at 1:00 PM. The place was full, good first impression. Then it was all downhill.... Had a reservation for 3 people inside (A/C). Hostess tried to sit us outside because everything inside was full. We decided to wait at the bar. Very surprised they did not served Don Q Rums (Premium). Suggested to bartender... More

We had asked him if he had a booth available... he looked back, saw two booth open and said no he had none available. I then asked if he had anything outside...he said no.. then a minute later.. said
