Description: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner Michael Schwartz, with prices designed to encourage frequent dining. This unpretentious bistro seats 90 indoors and out, with another 14 seats at a handsome bar. Doubling as a casual neighborhood dining spot and a culinary destination, the bright, airy space in Miami’s evolving Design District showcases Schwartz’s trademark new American cuisine at prices designed to encourage frequent dining. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu is chock full of choices encouraging everything from a light bite to a multi-course feast. A quick glance at the menu and Michael's intentions for this restaurant are revealed. Notable is the frequency of the word homemade in the descriptions of dishes -- be it pasta, French fries or rabbit terrine. At the same time, Michael's takes advantage of the Chef’s decades-long relationships with winemakers to offer diners the opportunity to try a variety of wines at great value.

We live in the edgewater area and always head to the beach for dinner for some reason. Then we discovered micheals. Some of the best food in miami. The BLP salad is too good for words. Then treat yourself from the extra large section of the menu and get the T-bone steak. It will change your life!! Amazing drinks, homemade... More

I used to spend a lot of time in Miami a few years ago, when I first discovered Michael's Genuine Food & Drink and kept going back for the excellent food. I think this is where I discovered burrata, which was beautifully and simply served with perfect tomatoes and olive oil. Back then, I thought the lunch service, with its... More

I was so glad to have a business lunch at this restaurant today. It is always good. I started with pork belly...melt in your mouth good. Cobia ceviche, fresh and delightful on the palate. and then I had the Poulet Rouge...scintillating chicken. Finished the meal with two sumptuous desserts that we 6 shared. Having met Michael a couple of years... More

Great location and neighborhood. Had brunch with family and friends. Service is good and well organized also when fully booked. Tasted amazing egg Benedict's, pastrami and pizza. What made me very happy is that finally someone embraced the philosophy to focus on quality rather than quantity. I recommend it and will return for sure. CIAO

The food here is delicious, maybe the best that I had in miami. The cobia fish here is excellent, cooked med rare, it just melts in your mouth. We even ordered chicken here. We usually dont order chicken, but read that it was especially good here, and it was. Super juicy and flavourful.

I believe Michael´s was one of the first top spots back then at the Design District, and has made it through the transformation of a very cool area. I have been here plenty of times, during lunch, brunch and dinner. I have had different experiences here. I was in one occasion during brunch inside and had a very different feeling,... More

All ingredients are local so the menu changes daily except for a few main stays. It's located in the art district so take in some of the street paintings before sitting down for an excellent meal. This place is just unreal. I've had just about everything on their menu and am never disappointed. The rice cake is a flavor journey,... More
