Description: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner Michael Schwartz, with prices designed to encourage frequent dining. This unpretentious bistro seats 90 indoors and out, with another 14 seats at a handsome bar. Doubling as a casual neighborhood dining spot and a culinary destination, the bright, airy space in Miami’s evolving Design District showcases Schwartz’s trademark new American cuisine at prices designed to encourage frequent dining. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu is chock full of choices encouraging everything from a light bite to a multi-course feast. A quick glance at the menu and Michael's intentions for this restaurant are revealed. Notable is the frequency of the word homemade in the descriptions of dishes -- be it pasta, French fries or rabbit terrine. At the same time, Michael's takes advantage of the Chef’s decades-long relationships with winemakers to offer diners the opportunity to try a variety of wines at great value.

Had dinner here last eveing and thought it was great...for the most part. We started with a Yellowtail Tuna Tartare that was great. Served with potato chips, which seemed odd, but was perfect. We followed that with an egg yolk appetizer that was almost really good. It is prepared in a small bowl and comes out looking like french onion... More

Only sat at the bar and had oysters and wine but we will def be back. The menu was so interesting, the service was friendly and unpretentious, oysters were great! The ambiance of the restaurant is fun and relaxing yet you know your in a high end restaurant.

This place would get 5 TripAdvisor Balls if I hadn't been there a 2nd time. My first visit was phenomenal.....pigs ears & paprika..... a Bloody Mary with a PBR chaser, genius and simple and clean and tasty. The 2nd time I got a sandwich which was very good, but very expensive...something I could have gotten for half the price at... More

The home made beer is incredible, the salad of the season is always fresh and with the best quality materials. The pizza and oven fish is a must try! In December is perfect to sit outside in the Terrace.
