Authentic Cuban comfort food - large servings

We stopped in here on a bit of a whim, finding the reviews in Trip Advisor to guide us there as we stayed near the airport for our final night in Florida. Located in West Little Havana, this place was filled with locals and has an extensive menu. Each of the four of us got something different and... read more

It was a Saturday afternoon ,we were running errands on that side of town. We decided to have lunch at the original La Carreta restaurant, we have one in Hialeah. It's been awhile since we've eaten there. It was busy as usual with locals and tourists, .l ordered a pan con lechon (pull pork sandwich )with swiss cheese, my mother... More

Looking for authentic Cuban food? You will not be disappointed. We all enjoyed our food. The price point was very affordable with traditional offerings. The masitas de puerco were delish and tender. Open late!

Recommended by a number of Cuban friends, La Carreta did not disappoint. The food is delicious. And the atmosphere is very low key. We came in and were immediately seated at a booth from which we could watch one of the cooks slicing huge stacks of roast pork and ham for cuban sandwiches behind the counter. I ordered the roast... La Carreta provided an excellent dining experience, much like Versailles across the street. Although I did not partake in the dining, as vegetarians and mainstream Cuban restaurants do not mix, the rest of my party of Cubans did remark that the food was excellent. The service was also excellent, so La Carreta would be a solid choice should you find... More

Every time I visit Miami, I eat (as many times as I can) at "La Carreta" not just because Cuban food is amazingly tasty, it's because in this place, every dish is unforgetable, extremely well done and big enough to satisfy 2 people! The pork is juicy and tender, the "congril" is the best I've ever had before. Everything is... More

Walked from Best Western, after long day of flying cross country, to this restaurant. Safe but not scenic! We were seated immediately, it was close to 6 pm on Friday evening. Our server was extremely patient with our many questions and very friendly and prompt but not pushy. To start we treated ourselves to a 1/2 pitcher of sangria, about... More
