First time here, I just wanted to have authentic cuban food. The first time I had picadillo with rice, black beans and yellow plantains. Taste was good, not salty like other places I have been before. The tres leches cake was decadent! I went a second time the next day and had moro rice with roasted pork, but kinda surprised... More

It ain't fancy and they don't speak much English, but the food is cheap, absolutely delicious, there's plenty of it, and the staff is very friendly (and accommodating for us non-Spanish speakers).

Wow! The staff at LaCarreta was awesome. The food was delicious and the dessert was to die for. I got the ceviche, paella, sweet plantains, sangria, cheese flan, and Cortadito. I spent quite a bit but it was worth it (approx. $30). I crave cortadito all the time now!!! New obsession!

A first visiting Miami and a first trying Cuban cuisine. Ordered a little of everything to get an idea of what Cuban food had to offer. Was quite impressed with all flavours and portion sizes. Was extremely full! Considering we only speak English the service was excellent. Great overall experience! How good is Cuban coffee!!!!

Miami - Sun, sand, & water...and the BEST Cuban cuisine this side of Havana. Having grown up in the area, I'm well versed in all types of Latin food. La Carreta is true to it's Cuban roots, and always consistent. Do yourself a favor and have ANY pork dish, or try the 'Boliche'. Add some sweet plantains, a side of... More

This is where the locals eat! The food was amazing and very affordable. Don't expect much from atmosphere, but the food more than makes up for the dated décor and dripping air conditioner vent that forced roping off three tables! We were told by the wait staff La Carreta is owned by the same owners as the better know Versailles... More

Food was fine but we preferrred the food and experience at Versaille. Especially the Cuban Sandwich - no comparison to Versaille. Place felt a litttle like a Cuban "Western Sizzler" from the 70s and 80's . Felt a little dark and dated. Could use an ambiance update

Forget the high priced rice and beans down the street, this place has everything that makes it an authentic Cuban restaurant. There is great food, variety, selection and tremendous value. The service is good. If you speak English only, they'll put you with an English speaking waiter. I've never ordered the same thing twice, because I'm Always tempted by something... More

Just had lunch here with some friends and this was some of the best Cuban food! I had a huge Cubano which was delicious. I tasted my friends chicken and yellow rice and pork and plaintains and it was also delicious. I wish I could come here more often. I don't think there was anything bad on the menu and... More
