Reliable and inexpensive Cuban food!

When in the mood for Cuban food, La Carreta never fails! Have a fruit batido - mamey and guanabana are really good. The caldo gallego always compliments a meal and today I had green plantain soup! If you are looking for Cuban food this is the place. Seating area is vey large. It also has larger tables in the rear to accommodate large parties. You can either seat inside or you can order from the window outside and have a snack or Cuban coffee.

If you like to eat, and who doesn't, you can eat almost anything cuban that you want here they have steak, chicken, soups, salads, dessert. Very good food service is amazing but be warned this place gets busy so if you go be patient or you during the week when people are at work. You will enjoy it.

I have been coming here for years. The carreterro breakfast is what we get with fried eggs, bacon, potatoes, 2 croquettas and cuban bread and we wash id down with a cafe con leche. ALways good to go by and have breakfast here.

I've been coming to this La Carreta since I was a child. I couldn't imagine this area of Bird Road without it. The food is always consistently delicious and known for its authentic Cuban cuisine. You can't go wrong with anything you choose here. The last time I went I simply had a bowl of chicken soup and that alone... More

Every trip to miami, this is one of the mandatory stops for me. Their arros con pollo is the bomb, and their dessert pastries and flan must not be missed. And the prices are right (maybe ever too low) When have you heard that last?

CAme here with my son to celebtate him getting his learners permit. He actually drove here from the DMV. He had the chicken milanese with white rice and black beans. I had the caldo gallego and the cuban sandwich. All the food was very good and the service was also good.

The cheese and guava empanadas and cheese Danish were fresh, flaky and hit the spot for a hungry traveler. Love the Drink options too!

This review is actually referring to the location at 10633 NW 12th St., Miami, Fl. 33172. A small restaurant with traditional Cuban décor -- family atmosphere with servers in Cuban-style attire. Extensive menu. Tried the "Cuban Classic Sampler" @ $12.95. Liked most of the items although some were "borderline". Delicious green split pea soup with garlic toast, which was $4.50... More

By Cuban standards, and this review is made by a Cuban, the food is average. My food was way too salty. The atmosphere is of a classical Cuban restaurant, so if you want to have a Cuban experience, go for it.
