Great authentic Chinese by the bay

So many Chinese places cater to domestic palates that most don't really have an authentic flavor. Not so at Tony Chan's in Miami by the bayfront. The chefs, who cook behind glass, are seasoned (no pun intended) and talented from China. The way the woks are heated and treated and the food is handled... read more

We're so thrilled to know that our kitchen has really hit the mark when it comes to the Kung Pao chicken, Ehsan! This has got to be the spiciest review we've seen all day -- pun intended. It sounds like you really enjoy watching the preparation of your food, and that's pretty cool. We hope you'll come by for another... More

Quiet, ambiance for good conversation and delicious food. Excellent menu. Drinks available and no rushing by staff. A great place to have a meeting, celebration or comfortable dinner alone. No pressure. Seems at least one of the owners always on site and visible. A very nice evening was had celebrating a friends birthday.

Their food was very good, especially the spring rolls--some of the best. The food was very fresh tasting and served in a timely manner. Portions were huge and enough to bring home. Service was excellent as well.

I made a reservation for lunch but it was not necessary because the restaurant was fairly empty at the time. We ordered one of the lunch specials which includes a choice of 3 dishes for 2 people. This is a great way to try additional dishes in one visit. You can also order lunch for 3, 4, 5, or 6... More

It sounds like the cashew chicken and your beef and mushroom dish both hit the mark, Charmain, and that's just great! We're also glad that your waiter was attentive -- that's such an important part of the overall dining experience. We hope to see you back for another lunch if you find yourself back in the area! Having reviewed one of my favorite eateries many times I have noticed on recent visits many of the regular staff on vacation or having left altogether and often at lunch time few people in the restaurant when it was almost full in days long ago....................................... There appears to be some new interest with visiting Chinese groups who take over tables... More

I can't say enough about this place. Filthy plates ,mucky windows, waiters with bad attitude and worse training. The food was deplorable. No taste , murky sauces , mushy tasteless yuck. Horribly expensive. Never again will I return .

We had a big lunch and were not hungry but thought we should eat. It is next door to where we stayed. The soup was great, the spicey shrimp with snow peas was fresh and delicious. We split it and it was plenty to eat. Authentic, fresh and highly recommended!
