CLOSED - Good food, service and sightseeing

After 15 years, the Estefan's closed the place around June 2014. Just around the corner from the American Airlines Arena, it was a great place to enjoy good food, had a nice ambiance, and great views.

The whole experience very disappointing. First the management didn't seem toknow what they were doing. Everyone was nice but running around bumping into each other. Waited an eternity for everything. Ordered three drinks, only two came. Couldn't capture anyone's eye. Finally got mine. Food an eternity...bad! My pork dried up shoe leather. Tried to get bill. Forget about it. Sorry... More

A huge plus was lots of parking. Don't order ice tea unless you like instant. I had a Cuban sandwich and it was good. Nothing was great but good. I'll eat there again.

Adjacent to the American Airlines Arena, in the middle of downtown, is Bongos Cuban Cafe. It has great views of the Magic City's skyline; "View of Port Miami", with it's cruise ships, view of Biscayne Bay. They have a great staff, serving authentic Cuban cuisine. The decor is tropical. I had black bean soup (sopa de frijoles negros), and chicken... More

We ordered 2 of the combo appitizers and entrees for 7 people. Everything was delicious except for the fish which needed seasoning and tasted like egg, I had the picadillo and my husband had the chicken. The chicken was soooooo good everyone at our table tasted it and wanted more. The picadillo is ok, I prefer Venesuelan picadillo. If I... More

We were in Miami for one night and wanted some Cuban food but didn't want to stray too far from the tourist area since we'd never been here before. I guess we were there way tooo early for this place to be happening yet. It was dead, I think there was a cocktail party in the bar and us and... More

Food was just average, service was slow. Was expecting a lot more from all the raving about this place. Needs to be updated, it rough on the edges by now

I decided to treat my mom to Bongos' Mother's Day brunch and we were both so happy with everything. The food was delicious and the brunch offered a variety of options, including paella, skirt steak, eggs cooked to order, various salads, yucca, sweet plantains, various Cuban desserts and many, many other tasty items. The service was superb and the entertainment... More
