The ambiance transforms the entire restaurants and makes you feel like you went back in time into Soul Train. The service was impeccable, everybody from the hostess to our waitress was friendly and had the southern attitude that matched with the feel of the place. It really would be a nice place to go with your friends if only the... More

This place is extremely overpriced and gives out such small portions of food. I paid $8 for 2 spoons of rice. I paid $14 for 4 piece bar-b-que wings that tasted burnt. I forced myself to eat that flavorless macaroni and cheese. I don't understand why they advertised that they're a soul food restaurant because they do not know how... More

Pricey but excellent food. Lively scene, vibrant, with somewhat inattentive service. Would not venture back since there are so many restaurants in Miami, but worth a initial visit.

First we walk into the restaurant and proceed upstairs where there is a bar and very quaint. Not one person that saw us walk up bothered to come up and tell us the bar upstairs was not open. We proceed back downstairs after waiting for a few minutes. The place is full of staff so it was shocking that four... More

This is a very nice home style resturant. I was a little reluctant at first because I was not familar with soul food. It was great. The okra and tomato stew was a fabulous side dish. I had the pan seared snapper and I recomend it to all. It is not covered in creamy sauce, just a unpretentious dish you... More

There are three things that make a restaurant, location / atmosphere ; the food and the service. South Street certainly has the location, that’s how is stumbled in there for lunch. Lovely outside seating, great building and in the middle of what will be the best shopping in Miami. The waiter was friendly, we ordered 3 small plates, Philly Catfish... More

We went during the busy Art Basel days but were seated and served immediately. I recommend shrimp and grit ( delicious) Mac and cheese and the and the brased spare ribs. The fried chicken was not as good. It is expensive but overall a good place

South Street has a great ambiance located in an old post office building in the design district. They go for home style cooking: shrimp and grits and turkey meatloaf with gravy types in a tapas format. Its all very heavy and not recommended before a night on the town. The service was good and the music was great. It's a... More

Went here last night for our wedding anniversary. Such a cool vibe. The music was awesome, the restaurant itself has been styled and done up beautifully and the food was really great. I would have liked to see a few more food items, but the stuff we did order was delicious! Shrimp and Grits, lamb chops, okra stew and a... More
