Just walked by for a return visit having had a great time in April 2014. Unfortunately the place is closed. Ventured further down Collins to stumble upon another Cuban cafe on the corner of 7th. Good Cuban coffee.

Some years ago, when we started going to South Beach on a regular basis, this place on Collins was a hole in the wall to get good coffee. It's no longer a hole in the wall, but it's still a great place to get coffee, breakfast, and lunch. The people are great, the food is reasonable, and it's just plain... More

We have been coming here for a long, long time. Before South Beach became what it is today,we would double park outside and pickup a couple of Cuban sandwiches and sip expresso while we waited. Now years later, the drug dealers and hookers are gone and we recently went inside, sat down and enjoyed a lunch.A very nice experience. Our Miami Vice memories are now just... We spent the week of Thanksgiving in South Beach and were fortunate enough to discover David's Cafe the first night we were there. We went back almost every day we were there, and over the course of the week we had breakfast (twice), lunch (once) and dinner (twice). Needless to say, we loved it. The cafe con leche was fantastic,... More

This Cuban café is just a couple blocks from the beach so it is super convenient to get some food or strong Cuban coffee. The décor, tables tops, moros, plantains, and other food was excellent and cheap; however, their service was awful both inside the restaurant and at the outside window. This happened twice in one day. No one was... More

Went to David's based on a recommendation from a Miami local. Was not disappointed. We were on a mission to try a Cubano sandwich (ham, pork, pickles, mustard on a soft bun that is typically toasted). It was great and had to go back to the take out window a couple of days later for a second. Also had the... More

We went here because I wanted to get a Cuban sandwich while in Miami Beach. I order Cuban sandwiches pretty much any time it is on the menu, and this was one of the best. The prices at this place are awesome as well.

We ate there three times, first for diner then for lunch then for merienda before dining out late. The food was great, the service was friendly and fast, and you could not beat the value. The bisteque sandwich came with these miniature crispy fries which made it perfect.

We stayed in apartments right across the street and got our morning coffee, breakfasts, and snacks all weekend here. We loved the walk up window for quick coffee and snack. And we loved eating inside, too - breakfast and snacks. The mamay shake is SO good! And the fresh squeezed juices rock - we tried both mango and orange. They... More
