Being a vegetarian I recently visited this restaurant not expecting to much, I was however, delighted with the option available and thoroughly enjoyed a black bean stew with roast plantain. It was a lovely tasty and nourishing meal. Only down side was a very limited selection of beers, although a colleagues cocktail was very good

Excellent Cuban food. We're from Miami...and this is about as close as you can get without driving 3 hours south. The space is small though, so get there early on a Friday or Saturday night, or be prepared to wait. There are worse things in the world than getting a cerveza or sangria, and listening to the live band before... More

My family and friends all love El Ambia Cubano. Sometimes we eat in the restaurant, but frequently we pick it up on our way home from work. We love the Ropa Vieja and the roast pork, always fresh and delicious. We usually order the meals with yellow rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. The best Cuban cooking we've had around... More

The food is the closest to home made you can get. Everything is authentic and wonderful. You really get the feel of being in someone's home and enjoying their old family recipes. We were very pleased with every dish. We love the Hemingway rice. So much flavor and so moist. The seating is a bit cramped and unusual but all... More

We found this fantastic restaurant on trip advisor and decided to take a chance. SOOOO glad we did! Everyone made us feel like we were personal friends coming to dinner. We ordered a couple beef empenadas, masas de puerco frita and Hemmingway rice. Fantastic. You can tell the love that goes into their food. It clearly represents who the owners... More

I love the food at El Ambia and it keeps me coming back. You get home cooked, delicious entrees that are well priced for what you get. The restaurant is small, which I like, but due to its popularity, it is always busy and very noisy. We were seated in a nook by the front door which was more on... More

The website has the menu and while 3-4 items are available every day, the other 3-4 selections vary by day. The night we visited they were featuring ropa vieja with rice, beans, and plantains. It was out of this world! The ropa had that all-day stewed flavor and just the right balance of beef and tomato goodness. We ate out... More

The menu looked amazing, but this was our first time there and wanted to try everything. We opted to eat off the appetizer menu; we each picked two items to try and share. The food is not spicy like Mexican food can be, the flavored are suddle and not overpowering. The place is small inside, and has a patio outside.... More

We went to dinner here based on the positive reviews we read. The place is very inviting. It is on the small side with about 10 tables inside and about 7 more on the outside patio. The smallness of the place adds to the coziness of the place. Outside and inside you hear music. We both had the Cuban sandwiches... More
