Right in the water in magical Matlacha is Bert's. Awesome blackened fish tacos! Beer & wine only but I did discover a nice drink called Cayman Jack. A bottled margarita. Tasty! Everything gets an A+rating with maybe the exception of the service. Had to hunt down the server to pay my bill. Great... read more

When we walked in through the bar to get outside I thought to myself "there is no way I am eating here" and boy was I wrong. I had the best clam chowder I ever had. One of us had the hamburger - large, juicy and cooked perfectly. Another had the shrimp tacos, very delicious. French fries were done right,... More

Found Bert's to be a hidden treasure you would have never expected. Staff is friendly, atmosphere is excellent on the water, If in the area you should stop in and check it out.

If you're in the Cape Coral, FL area, do not miss this place! Casual, on the water, with a steel drum player! Perfect!. Jam packed at lunch time! With indoor and outdoor seating! It's the kind of place where you'll find rolls of paper towels on the tables instead of napkins! Fish tacos, shrimp baskets, burgers, beer.....all the typical fair... More

Bert's was recommended to us as true "Old Florida". Loved the vibes there. Relaxing, good music for during early evening visit. I had blackened fish tacos with Wahoo, a local fish. They were excellent. They came with the homemade chips. Almost every restaurant we visited had homemade chips. These were on par with all of them. Could have used more... More

It is so nice to sit on a pier overlooking the water, listening to music, in the sunshine. Parking was a challenge, but the view is worth it. We got the fried cod special with their famous chips. It was awful. All six pieces we ordered were the same size. Like cookie cutter (or store bought and fried?). They were... More

One of the friends we were staying with on Anna Maria Island found Matlacha ( the "cha" as in cha-cha) in some article and we made the long drive down, to see the galleries and enjoy the vibe. I and one of our friends had the fried oysters and fresh-made potato chips, my wife had fish and chips, and our... More

Loved the fresh fish, tender and soft which indicates very fresh, lightly battered, served hot. Now the chips could use some upgrading, only average. Arrive by 11:30 to assure a table in the shade with great views and sea breezes. The parking is a not adaquate and hard to find.

but crappy service, and so-so food. Took forever to get food, but at least the band made that tolerable. We sat outside, and ended up getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Parking is impossible to find (we walked from our house), so be prepared for that. I ordered a special of the night - fried seafood basket. Coconut shrimp were tiny,... More

The food during lunch is excellent. A wide variety. A great view on the deck. The servers are friendly and informative. Prices are reasonable. Never had a bad meal. The bartenders are real corkers. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times but you always find a spot. Music most every day too... Try it - a great... More
