What a delightful find !

What a great find. The view is wonderful and relaxing overlooking the water, the service is great and fun. It is a very laid back casual place to kick back and just enjoy. The one day we were there a stell drum player was playing - so relaxing. The food is casual and very good. A definite must... read more

My husband and I went to Bert's as it was highly recommended. The sign said to seat ourselves outside, so we did. A couple must have just left because there was a signed bill, a dirty table and food that hadn't been cleaned up. After about 15 minutes, the waitress came around to take our drink order. We waited more... More

This is a great place - not only for the food but for the local scene and live entertainment in the evenings. Food was very good -- the highlights were the local clams & fresh grouper prepared in a variety of styles. The fried oysters were tasty but a bit over-breaded. The live music (this night was a solo singer... More

Staying in Matlacha, we just had to try Bert's Bar and Grill. Setting is on the water and we had a nice table for two overlooking the pier. We arrived for an early dinner/ late lunch and just got in before the crowds had arrived. Waitress was busy but kept up with the crowd. I had the Fish Tacos, which... More

We went there for lunch. The service was slow and the food was average. My girlfriend had the fried shrimp and I had the blackened grouper. The view and atmosphere were nice. We would return here.

Finally tried Bert's in Matlache after hearing good and bad reviews. Old restaurant on the water. Food was okay, just barely warm. Service was very slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Several other options in this small fishing village that we enjoyed much more. Not that impressed, would probably go back, but only after the other choices.

Spent the day on Pine Island looking at all the shop's, had lunch at Bert's. Weo, what at good meal, sitting on the dock watching the boats come in and tie up. Entertainment was good too.

Slow service but good evening just the same. The view over the water, the steel drum music, the cold drinks, the casual conversation among friends over a leisurely meal made for a nice night out . Either the kitchen was slow or service was simply understaffed all-round ~ took 2hrs for some fried baskets and a couple rounds of beers... More

Always come back here for the home made potato chips and fried shrimp. Mmmmm, they know how to do shrimp right. They use BIG shrimp, de-vein them well, remove tails, then lightly batter and fry just until done. Easy to eat as you don't have to pull tails off, or spit them out. They are really the best fried shrimp... More
