My son and I have been eating at Waltz every weekend for over a year, and I must say we have never had a bad experience. I travel for a living and Waltz is by far the best seafood restaurant you will ever find. Walt gets all his fish fresh every day and if he doesn’t like the catch that... more

If you want to eat the very best food this is the place to go. I live here and my father and I eat with Walt and Sue every week, we would not even think of a different place to hang out and have OUTSTANDING food.... Thanks Walt and Sue more

Yes, the best seafood in town is served here accompanied by the largest glasses of wine. This is a busy place even off season and is frequented by a lot of locals, always a good sign. Only about 4 appetizers and 4 entrees and as the night wears on and the catch is all eaten, items disappear from the menu... more

I have had a lot of great seafood in my life time, but none comes close to the excellent food at Waltz. This weekend my Mom, sister and bother-in-law had the great experience of eating lunch at Waltz. The food was the best I have ever had, and having llved on the Outr Banks of NC for many years and... more

I fly to Florida about once a month and will drive out of my way to eat here. The seafood is so fresh that the boat pulls up and Walt selects the FRESH fish to be served. Get there early because when the fresh fish is gone - it is gone and you will have to select alternate menu items.... more

We tried Waltz and had a wonderful experience. We were a little concerned about my 3 year old eating, but the staff made her feel right at home by making a plate of fruit and vegetables. We had the snapper and boiled shrimp and it was excellent. I would highly recommend this place. It is small, but the food and... more

I have been to Fl. enough to know a good tourist from a bad one. Waltz's Fish Shack is an amazing resturant that caters to FL people. NOT TOURISTS with bad attitudes. The food is FRESH you pay for FRESH Walt does not open unless his fisherman can catch fish for the menu. Yes, there are only a few items... more

My husband and I have a weekend house on the beach within walking distance of Waltz and until recently we had not dined there because of local rumors about the “blond frizzy haired lady” and what she might do to one’s food if one rubs her the wrong way. I had also heard from many neighbors that the service was... more

We spent the day at John's Pass in March 2009. We were at Don's Dock across the street, so we decided to have lunch at Walt'z Fish Shack. We are a family of four, Mom, Dad, 4-year-old and 1-year-old. Our 1-year-old was in a stroller... heaven forbid! We were immediately confronted by a blonde, frizzy haired lady (she was mentioned... more

Notice how all the good reviews come from locals. That's because they don't get treated the way toursists are. Walking in the door, the hostile blonde behind the bar/seating hostess, repeated 3 times that they are a seafood place. For the record I'm not deaf. Our party of four was slapped with a 18% gratuity after a so so meal... more
