I was staying in Madeira Beach with 3 girlfriends, and we ended up eating at Mario's twice in the 4 nights we were there, because it was so tasty. It's a small place, in a strip center, and doesn't look like much from the road, but oh, my, wait til you taste the food! They had a fresh grouper special... more

This small bistro is an excellent choice for dinner. We were promptly seated at one of the 9 tables. There were plenty of affordable wine choices for everyone to get their own varietal. Lots of "warm from the oven" bread. For appetizers we had freshly steam mussels, caprese salad and sausage antipasta. Then we were each served a large bowl... more

We enjoyed the daily special Spinach & Cheese Stuffed Ravioli and regular menu item Eggplant Parmiagiana. The food was very hot, a must for pasta, and included house salad and warm baguette with butter. Total with 3 drinks came to $44. Interior of the restaurant was tastefully decorated and typical of a southern Italian eatery including small size with only... more

Mario is from Tuscany and his offerings are very good though not exclusively from that region. He makes especially fine use of the local seafood (and, happily, there is salt in the bread). The wait staff is friendly and unflappable despite very basic tight quarters in a strip mall location. The price is right for meals and the wine list,... more

Mario's is located in an undistinguished small strip mall across from the beach. You almost have to search to find it --- and it is well worth the search! I have had dinner here at least a dozen times over the past 18 months on my treks from Minnesota. Every meal has been superb ... attentive friendly service .... reasonable... more

If you know what real Ity food is, you will love this place. The Ferrari posters in the bathroom are worth the trip. Mussels and clams are fresh and cooked to perfection. Sit at the (very small) bar and Mario will cook for you in person. more

We ate at Mario's last week because of the favorable reviews on this site. The place is cute and the service was good but the food was similar to Chef-boy-ardee. We arrived around 6:00 p.m. and were told there would be no meat sauce for any of the dishes that evening. This is rather unusual for an Italian restaurant. I... more

Just returned from Florida and used TA for suggestions. Glad I did. This was a superb meal. Just in a little strip mall. Once inside, you will be delighted with the food. Don't drive by this one. more

Marios is the best kept seceret on the beach. It a quaint little restaurant with about 10 tables. The food is wonderful, the people who work there are super friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great home made meal! more
