This place seems so authentic. I loved the salad and my meal but my husband felt his spaghetti came with frozen meatballs. Extremely disappointed!! The bread basket was great but if you ask for more beware they charge. It's no big deal but they should let you know. The staff was very friendly.

This place - situated on the lot where there is supposed to be a shopping "mall" thing. Only 2 of the properties where in operation - in addition to the Bayou Tavern. The BT has a very discree presence, and if you do no know it is there, like us, you might just pass by without seeing it. We where... More

We arrived at 5:40 expecting to take advantage of the "early bird" menu which was supposed to be available between 4:30 and 5:45. The waiter gave us the menu acknowledging that we were indeed on time for "early bird". Shortly afterward the owner/manager? came and took away the menu stating that we really have to be there by 5:30 and... More

We had a 7 PM reservation, and arrived on time. No hostess, and the staff is great at ignoring people coming thru the door. When the owner/only waiter/ greeter finally took our info, he told us to wait, he would be back. 45 minutes later he told us to sit at the bar until he was ready for us. All... More

This restaurant caught us by surprise. It is located in a shopping center where most storers are closed. But it is a gem so long as you don't order the pizza, which was dry and boring. The Basa Francese is superb. It is a mild, white fish served in an excellent francese sauce. The lasagna is cheesy, gooey, cooked in... More

Bayou Tavern is in a mostly empty strip mall. The mall was allowed to deteriorate over quite some years - but is now totally remodeled and finally gaining tenants. The "staying power" of Bayou Tavern through the past vacancies is fortunate, as this is an excellent restaurant. We've eaten here several times now, brought friends for a "mystery dining trip"... we have come here often over the years. The owner is arrogant but the food has always been good. Tonight it was terribe. We were there early and we had the "Earlybird" which was not our intention, but why not. THe chicken picatta was just a piece of steamed thin chicken with a bland sauce, the fish mushy and tasteless.... More

We have eaten here several times and while not great it was good but our experience last night was very disappointing. Although our waitress was very good and very apologetic, it didn't make up for drinks not delivered, an awful veal dish that was overlooked and tough, and desserts that weren't delivered. The rest of the meal was passable, but... More
