Unique location, very average food.

The only thing that jumps out at you about this place is the location. Food and service are average. Just average. Many like to go here because there is a history, the highlight dating to a supposed secret meeting between FDR and Churchill. That, however, doesn't impact the quality - or lack... read more

The food is honestly not worth the price tag but if you have not been to Cap's, you must see it in person. be sure to check out the bar for antiques and old pictures of Lighthouse Point.

This is the ideal place to take visitors who want to have good food as well as experiencing a piece of Florida history. You get to take a boat to the island where rum runners worked during prohibition. The signs say it is the oldest restaurant in south Florida. Great place to take tourists to have a unique Florida memory... More

A group of 9 of us dined there 3 nights ago. The restaurant is unique in that you need to take a water shuttle over to the restaurant from their dock in Lighthouse point. The restaurant dates back to the 1920's so to say it is rustic is an understatment. The restrooms are little more than out houses, disgusting! The... More

It was a great night! But started out crazy.... my husband & I walk up for the boat & the Captain says, hold on, I have an issue & need to get in the water to check it out.... it was cold, next thing you know, he's half naked & jumping into the water, his mask on with a flashlight...... More

A group of us went there in December 2014. From the boat ride to the historical photos etc on the walls to the fantastic service and food, everything was great ! We will definitely return.

Old Florida restaurant location by boat (free) from the Lighthouse Point Yacht Club Marina. Terrific fresh fish, try the snapper ! If you are a history buff, you don't want to miss this charming old time favorite local restaurant, albeit out of the way of the hustle bustle of chain restaurants, however a must if you are visiting South Florida!... This little shack by the intercoastal was once a favorite hangout for rum-runners. That old time feel is still here, To get there you have to park across the way and there is a ferry that takes you over. Wooden floors and pictures of old florida bring you back in time. Seafood is awesome - can't miss the fresh hearts... More

Great experience in dinning. Fun boat ride to island. Great food. Pricey but very good. Love the crab cakes. But 35.00 dollars is the most I have paid for crab cakes ever. Every Floridian needs to go here at least once.

We like to pop in here when we are in Fort Lauderdale. This is a former speakeasy and is in a couple of rustic 1920's wooden buildings, it has a casual, comfortable vibe. They are on a peninsula with no parking. You park across the waterway in their lot which is in a residential neighborhood and can be tricky to find,... More
