Cap's is Florida's oldest restaurant. It sits on an island off Lighthouse Point and can only be reached by Cap's motor launch. It specializes in seafood. I had the mixed seafood platter and it was very good. My husband had the filet of red snapper with all the trimmings andit was very tasty... read more

WE found Caps Place after searching for a location to host a rehearsal dinner for 40 people, many who were traveling from the Midwest. The people planning with us made it all seamless and easy. Caps Place was ideal you take a boat out to the restaurant and the captain tells you stories about the history of Caps place while... More

We have heard about this restaurant for years, but for some reason had never eaten here. The short ferry ride to the restaurant is a nice start to the evening. My adult son was impressed with the rustic bar and photos lining the walls. Our fish was cooked perfectly and was very fresh. I do agree with several other reviewers... More

Loved this place! Started off with the neat little boat ride across to the restaurant. Waitress was very nice and gave good tips to what was especially good, in addition to a cool history of the place (look it up, it's really interesting). We started with the escargot, which was good especially if you've never tried it before. Then we... More

You take a boat to the restaurant and that just sets the stage for a most memorable... More

The very short boat ride is a real novelty to any visitors we have, the food is pretty expensive but always good, especially seafood, historic bar serves high ish priced drinks, overall good fun.

Short boat ride across the channel to get to this traditional no frills place. Sort of like going back in time. No fancy decor and casual dress for sure. But, food was delicious. Had the stuffed lobster! Cooked perfect. Pricey. Special place.

Caps Place is a "must" see if you want to recapture the feel of a 1920's eatery and bar. The boat ride, the low ceilings in the bar and restaurant, and the old-time good service make this a great memory to take home with you. Besides, you won't get a better crab cake anywhere!

Crab Cakes were on the SPECIALS menu and the prices for special items were not given...none of the prices were given for the specials. When we got the bill they were 35.00 a piece...which was totally over priced. Food was good and aviance was great....recommend day time visit so you can enjoy outside views and maybe they will have steamers... More
