Same Old Thing, Lots of Good Food

Seating in this place is limited, so waiting is a regular thing. However, if you get in, it is the same treats you have been expecting. A broad menu of well prepared good quality seafood in generous portions at very reasonable prices. This location seems a lot friendlier than some. Maybe the... read more

this is a very reasonable priced restaurant and always very busy. it is a little loud when busy. Barbara and I love the flounder, shrimp and scallops the best. you get a nice amount of whatever seafood you order. the Cole slaw is great. French fries are okay but overall the entire meal is great. I have also had a... More

Our party enjoyed their fried plates. Fried platter was just like the old Captain Bells restaurant. Broiled platter looked pretty sad. Overall, OK.

We recently went to Cedar River Seafood on 441 south. We only had a short wait time as there were only 2 of us and it was around 5 PM. The food was excellent, service was great and I would highly recommend this place. We had the seafood platter for 2 which was $40, and huge, but we took a... More

The only redeeming dish for us, were the delicious Fried Green tomatoes. We found it over priced and a little shoddy. Every dish served to us was served on cracked or chipped plates, saucers etc.

This restaurant was so good we ate here twice, taking friends with us the second time. The fried shrimp were excellent and even on the Senior Plate, I had about 15 shrimp. Another night I ordered the scallops and they were succulent. It is a very popular place and sometimes you have to wait but it is WELL worth it!... More

They have a wonderful "all you can eat" lunch. Mostly catfish, tilapia, flounder. It is cooked to perfection & delicious. We highly recommend this place to eat.

We were attracted to this place mostly because it's not a national chain. The decor is dated and the seats in our booth were in we bad shape. Table and chairs would be the way to go. Service was OK and our food came out of the kitchen FAST! Wife ordered coconut shrimps and I had the shrimp and fish... More

The seafood was good, fresh, hot. The sides, not so much. Reheated sides with foil over them. Mushy, soggy Lima beans, overly sweet, mashed sweet potatoes (they were cold) but the coleslaw was very good! Good hush puppies, good coconut shrimp, popcorn (peanut) shrimp was fresh, not greasy. Stuffed crab shells very good. Had gumbo as an app but it... More

Lunched with another couple, they loved their food, ours was just fair except for the New Eng clam chowder which was excellent. My salmon was very dry, almost like baked-frozen-then microwaved. Spouses coconut shrimp was overcooked. Friends had other fish entrees which they really liked. We will go back but avoid the salmon and coconut shrimp. Hint, get there before... More
