When a restaurant stands out in your memory and you plan to eat there again should you visit that town, the rating is 5 stars. Harry's in Lakeland is one of those restaurants. It was a Sunday night (11/8/09) and we had already struck out at another TripAdvisor restaurant because it was closed that we almost drove past Harry's because the interior looked dark and empty. Harry's is a local favorite. Their bar is well stcked and their menu has something for everyone. Although they are a Cajun restaurant and most people would be tempted to try the Jambalaya, I recommed other items such as the blackened red fish, the pork chops or my personal favorite the shrimp and scallop Orleans with the grit cake. I really like Harry's food. My wife begs to differ. I usually get the shrimp and scallops Orleans and I relish every mouthful. Last time we went (for Mother's day!), my wife ordered a burger and it was delivered extra well done (i.e. burnt) and we've never been back. There are not many seafood places in Lakeland, and Harry's is one of them. Good Louisiana style, creole food. I love love LOVE the chicken jolie blonde. SUPERB! A little higher priced, but good music, atmosphere and setting. I visit about once every 3 months or so. more
We ate their on Feb 15,2009 and had great seafood, service was good not great. A lot of locals eating their and waitres was very good telling us what was very good. She was right. Excellent crabcakes!! Try it more
