Casper's is hidden in plain sight but should not be passed. Wonderful dishes prepared by Chef G. Food is fresh and inexpensive. Ambiance is casual with an upbeat vibe.
The food here was absolutely delicious. It’s a small quaint place. The chef was very personable and welcoming. We had a very homey feeling and with the hole experience. We had the croquis madam, there is nothing like hearing your eggs being made to ordered...cracked and sizzling in the kitchen. Definitely a place to try out.More
Highly recommend this hidden gem in Lake Park. Food is high quality and delicious. The most wonderful vinaigrette on my salad; Fresh herbs from the outdoor garden boxes; New Orleans Jazz - you will love it!
Great lunch in a quaint and casual family atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back to try breakfast soon 👍👍 Lots of good looking specialty coffees and pastries too. Interesting menu; a unique restaurant experience tucked away in Lake Park.
Being new to the area, my husband and I decided to try Casper's for Sunday brunch. We were both in the mood for eggs benedict and the owner/operator suggested the eggs benedict sardou. They were delicious! A little more background... the place has a cute,...outdoor patio complete with water feature and potted garden. The owner also did all of the waiting and cooking, and although there were no other patrons at the time, it took quite a while to get our food. This was fine with us as we had no particular place to be and were simply enjoying each others' company on a beautiful, Florida morning. Sometime during the preparation of the meal, we watched as the owner/cook came out to his little potted garden to pick some fresh rosemary, presumably for our meals. Sure enough, the rosemary along with sea salt and some of the finest tasting olive oil I've ever tasted was used to season my husband's breakfast potatoes. I had my eggs benedict with a side of cheese grits, which I think were more cheese than grits, just like a like them. And I never thought of pairing eggs benedict with artichoke, but combined with the hollandaise sauce, the meal was nothing short of magnificent. In summary, this place is a gem. But do not come here if you are in a hurry. Good food takes time to prepare. And I highly recommend this place for some good food.More
Made a reservation for a Friday night dinner. Best restaurant meal I’ve had in ages. Butternut squash soup was perfection. I had shrimp and scallops with tasso cream sauce over pasta. Scallops were cooked perfectly. Hubs had pork in a wine sauce over polenta and...also raved. Chocolate overload and Limoncello cakes were both outstanding. And the prices were more than reasonable. Don’t just show up for dinner. They are not always open and indoor seating limited.More
Somewhat off the beaten path in the tiny Lake Park 'downtown'. A handful of tables waited on by chef Giuseppe himself. (Casper's his dog). Some eclectic and whimsical art on the walls. A small takeout counter. But the FOOD is pretty spectacular. Cooked from scratch,...the menu may vary on a daily basis depending on sourcing. We especially enjoyed the scallops san jacques and the shrimp, scallops and tasso cream on nicely al dente noodles with a fantastic sauce. Just takes a little tasso to transform the dish. Also had a nice gumbo with plenty of andouille sausage and shrimp. VERY reasonable pricing. Giuseppe is very friendly and happy to talk about his pathway from Europe through New Orleans cooking scene. Easy parking. Limited wine and beer selection. We'll definitely return.More
Grazie Mlle. A presto !
The best coffee in town. Salads always made with homemade dressing. Don't forget brunch on Saturday.

This guy is interesting. Italian that cooked in France then Louisiana and now in WP. Good selection of interesting food, Italian with Cajun twist. Good Gumbo and paninis. Want to try something different, try Caspers.
My friend wanted to meet here for lunch, and what a treat! Chef provided personal attention and food was delicious! Will definitely return.
When you enter this European style Bistro style restaurant you're greeted by owner and French trained Chef Guissepe. The Chef offers a full bistro menu of breakfast, lunch and dinners with a French-Italian flare including coffees, salads, sandwiches, and cooked fresh to order dishes. All...delicious. Also the last Friday of the month the Chef prepared a fix price epicurean dinner by reservation. Not to be missed. Breakfast lunch dinner or just a coffee break don't miss this unique and fun restaurant in the heart of Lake Park. Stop in and say hello to Chef Guissepe. Enjoy!More
I almost don't want to write a review because I want to keep Casper's on Park all to myself. The drive to make Chef Giuseppe's expertise known to all is a stronger desire. We had a wonderful brunch on the morning after their French prix...fixe meal the night before. Chef Giuseppe was born in Rome and after formal culinary education and stints in Europe, opened 2 restaurants in New Orleans. Both were destroyed by Katrina and he was left with nothing. He relocated here to Florida and opened Caspers on Park. Casper is his dog, who has an outdoor room of his own on their bougainvillea-edged patio in front of the restaurant. Giuseppe waited on us personally. I love a good Benedict and ordered his version of it. After enjoying a satiny, rich cup of Illy coffee and chatting with the neighboring patrons, also locals, Chef arrived with our meals. The Benedict he served was nothing less than amazing. Two slabs of lightly-toasted French bread, almost croutons, were the base. Ripe tomato slices provided an acid contrast to the richness of the egg yolks and hollandaise, above. The next layer of prosciutto was a smoky contrast, with in-season asparagus for some delicate spring crunch. The eggs were perfectly poached pillows: set, on the edge, and when broken open, slowly, luxuriously melting down over the dish. The hollandaise is the real deal, dear. Chef adds a touch of orange zest to the sauce and it raises the sauce to a new level of delicious. Again, some subtle acid contrast. All in all, it was layered luxury. I tried to taste my partner's Greek omelette, which looked good for a short while until he made it disappear. He all but growled at me so I took his word for it that it was very good. (Thank you for providing real butter and a good amount of it for the toast, chef.) I can't wait to return to the corner of Park and Ninth in downtown Lake Park for some great NOLA food! Make sure you visit and Laissez les Bon Temps roulez!More
