Great local diner. Sausage gravy is the BOMB.

The place wad hopping. We sat at the counter and were greeted right away by Lisa. It truly was an orchestra between the waitresses, grill cook and the back kitchen. We had chicken fried steak with sausage gravy. The chicken was so tender you could cut it with your fork, the gravy was from... read more

You can't go wrong if you want a great breakfast. The building has been there forever and was famous for the excellent take out box lunches to go out on boat's. Ted and Mary were some early pioneers in the shallow water fishing They were the owner's then and the new owner's have keep the reputation going

We ate here for breakfast on 3/21/15 based on great Trip Advisor reviews. A friendly but very rushed waitress greeted us and we were seated right away. The place was packed. If you like a local, 'grungy diner' this is for you. We witnessed people being seated at tables that were never wiped. The floors were old and dirty and... More

Think, you are going fishing early, and need to eat. Think, spending the day out in the Keys, and need to eat. You are covered at the Wooden Spoon. We have been eating at the Wooden Spoon for as many years that we have been visiting the Keys. That is a long time, and it hasn't changed a bit! I... More

We loved this place! We were actually on our way to Brutus, but saw this place and wanted to try it instead. I do not like seafood, so we have been struggling to find good 'land lovers' food around here. It was incredibly crowded so we had to sit at the bar and they were quite understaffed. But the decorations... More

Way cool place for breakfast! Great fun to sit at the counter and watch the cook do her job. I was exhausted just seeing how fast she moves. The blueberry and banana pancakes looked WOW.

This place should be on dinners, drive-ins and dives. Good food, large portions and service in a little funky joint. 6 for breakfast and everything was great. Not a dimp! Per the KU grad.

First the two waitresses worked their butts off and made the best of it. They should have someone who just clears old dishes for these waitresses. The food was good. Nothing unique. Good southern Breakfast food. Biscuits were awesome. But the furniture is awful. Chairs are torn. I am no fancy person but this is really nasty decor. Feels crowded... More

Many of the restaurants in Marathon are dives, kind of grungy inside, frayed seats and just had a greasy kind of feel to it. The breakfast was good, we both had the scrapple, which was very good. Otherwise, service was good and food was pretty good. Hard to screw up breakfast. Just a basic diner.

The recommendation was great, so we tried the Wooden Spoon. We went there for breakfast Lots of things on the menu, and the service was fast. There were things that nagged me though. I had a ham omelet, the cheese and other fixings was an extra. I was surprised to see an a la carte menu for breakfast. The ham... More
