Eat where the locals go

We have been eating here every time we go to the Keys for the last 10 years. Fresh local fish and cooked to perfection. Love the atmosphere. Staff is very helpful. Looking forward to going again.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch. I had the mahi sandwich. It was a large piece of fish - perfectly grilled. And delicious. My husband had the fried (Key West Pinks) shrimp platter. Mine looked better - but he said it was very good. The black beans and rice that came with his platter was terrific. But the... More

It was nice to find a less self-absorbed eatery in the keys. Of course, you can find what you come to expect of a dining establishment in the keys (i.e. mahi-mahi, snapper, grouper), but I was most happy to see homemade sides (coleslaw, potato salad, cucumber salad, etc.) The owners' German heritage shows on the menu, and I actually ended... The people that worked there were rude. We started to leave before we ordered because of how rude they were. We stayed due to fact that they had high ratings. Food was decent.

Wow, we were so surprised to read this review. If you look back through all of our reviews we have never had anything bad said about our service? We think we have 2 of the best waitresses in the Keys. Our bus girls are also very attentive to all of our customers. We're not sure what happened during your visit,... More

First off the food was good but portions were small. My husband and daughter had fried shrimp. 6 shrimp & a handful of fries was not enough food for my husband. I had clam strips which were very good but the fries were dry and tasted like they had been sitting for quite a while (I couldn't eat them). The... More

We're sorry your husband felt that he didn't have enough to eat. We try to keep our prices reasonable, and so only charge $12.95 for a shrimp dinner. We feel that 6 large key west pink shrimp, along with our homemade cole slaw, and your choice of potato is a fair price and portion. We will always cook more shrimp,... More

Hole-in-the-wall place (all locals) with amazing seafood (right off Hwy1). It's a deli/fish market with a restaurant on the adjacent side. Check the MM and photo of the front, or you'll drive right by. Lots of choices, not just seafood. My top recommendation is the Johnnys salad-- mixed Cesar style but with an incredible homemade dressing (combining bleu cheese, ranch... More

This was the only fish market we could find open past 5:00. We purchased very fresh Maui Maui, hogfish, yellow tail snapper. Purchased a very good & inexpensive spice for grilling fish & very fresh, homemade tortilla chips. Staff very helpful & friendly. Clean fish market.

This is one of my best go to lunch places.. yes the fish is awesome. probably one of the best fish sandwiches in the keys. BUT... the non fish food is AMAZING too. They do german type fare that is to die for. And they have a great fish and meat market.

We went one day for lunch after not having been for awhile. We had great service. Each waitress came by more than once-not one of the wait staff ignored us, or refused to get us what we requested. The food choices are so much better than most other restaurants-not the fun of the mill fried, tasteless, junk. There is a... More

Always good, different specials every day. Don't forget their fish, shrimp, and steaks at the takeout market!
