Some of the best sushi I had, short of being in Japan. However, the prices were very high; almost double what we pay in Chicago. Glad I went, probably would not go back because of the price. Service was OK as was the atmosphere.

My husband and I dined here tonight and felt it was the best meal we have had in the Keys. We arrived about 6:30 and were seated immediately. The staff was very attentive and knowledgable about the food on the menu. We shared the Grouper Cheeks appetizer as well as two of the specialty rolls, Sunrise Sunset and Spider. Everything... More

I have been to Kaiyo many times, most recently last month, and I have never been disappointed in the quality and freshness of the meals served there. It is a nice, casual atmosphere, they have a wide variety of sushi and other items and you can bring your own fish to have them prepare it. The first time I came,... More

Kaiiyo is one of the best restaruants I've ever eaten at. The seafood is fresh, the sushi is creative, the steak melts in your mouth. It's a little pricey, and worth every penny. You won't be disappointed.

We started with two sushi rolls, the Islamorada and the B-28; both were fantastic with the B-28 being a unique combination of ingredients beginning with soft shell crab that just melted in our mouth. I had the fresh Hogfish with the Thai glaze and shiitake mushrooms...excellent. My husband had the fresh macadamia crusted grouper with mango aioli....delicious. We finished off... More

this is much more than a sushi restaurant in the middle Keys. Menu will satisfy anyone - seafood is highlighted by both sushi/sashimi as well as cooked dishes, but other choices included rack of lamb, huge rib-eye steak, and a small vegetarian dish (sushi roll). Had the grilled octopus - perfectly cooked, flavorful, amazing. Would go back just for that.... More

What a disappointment! Blueberry salad dripping in a strange sauce; edamame hummus with a clearly 'off' flavor (spoiled? too much raw garlic?), decent but vastly overpriced Thai curry rice noodles; the list goes on. Long wait for our food to arrive - okay, it was a holiday weekend, but still, empty tables were in evidence - then the wrong items... More

The menu presents a big problem. You just cannot decide what to order. You can get very standard items like edamame, pork dumplings and tuna roll. Or, you can be adventurous and try eggplant chips, grouper cheeks, smoked wahoo cakes, hogfish sushi with pineapple, coconut shrimp sushi. And the very creative choices go on. They also offer steaks, pork and... More

A little loud (because it is popular). Good wines by the glass. Started with grouper cheeks thinking it was local. Not noteworthy. Could have been any overly battered fried seafood. Ordered the sushi boat for 2 ($75). Chef's choice of various kinds of sushi. All very fresh and well made.
