The sushi was flavorful. It took a while to prepare, but you're warned of that on the menu. The dessert was simple, and they're using Reddi-Whip instead of making theirs in-house.

A cute little restaurant that features lots of sushi, not too many dragon rolls and very expensive entrees. Fish very good but not too much Japanese like entrees. This is sort of s fusion place so if you're expecting more traditional Japanese food it's not.

The Keys are known for their seafood and casual style. Over the years I have come to expect fresh fish and wonderful sunsets from local restaurants. What I do not usually expect is creative, fine dining. Kaiyo exceeded my expectations. As good as anything you can find on the mainland, with helpful, friendly service to boot. Pricier than most, though,... More

This has to be one of our favourite restaurants in the world, that I know it's a big claim but we love the food, the decor and the location. Put simply if you love sushi raw or cooked then you have to go to this restaurant, the sea food, steaks and other dishes on offer are just as delicious and... More

Best sushi place in the island! I had a great fine dining experience with friends. Better to get a reservation first before you come in.

With the name of Kaiyo you make the assumption that this is only a Japanese restaurant and you wouldn't be more wrong. This is a great, diversified restaurant that serves not only sushi and sashimi but great steaks, chops and ribs. It can be a bit noisy, but if you sit on the side where the sushi bar is, the... We had a pleasant meal while sitting on the porch. The choices were a cross between sushi and standard Key seafood fare. We chose the special which offered three different types of fish and the hog fish. They offer a variety of ways for the seafood to be cooked. It was very good, but not excellent.

What else can I say? I've been dining at Kaiyo's for over a decade, and they have never failed to impress. Their white tuna always tastes as if it were caught five minutes before you order it. And their Sake Mojitos? Watch out...they will sneak up on you!!!

We were there last September in 2014...it had come highly recommended, but for me it was just okay...and of course, not inexpensive...The ambiance is simply, which is fine..but the food was just okay...wish I could say more...
