Finally got our act together to book a table on advance and were treating warmly as soon as we set foot on the steps. A lovely greeting and welcome as we were led to our table and then Shell our waitress took over. She was terrific - enthusiastic and knowledgeable as well as friendly and fun. She obviously loves her... More

We loved Chef Michael's. Our appetizer, escargot was the typical preparation and very good. We shared the catch of the day, a hogfish. We had it prepared "ponchartrain", lightly blackened with crawfish and shrimp in a cream sauce. It could not have been better. The food, service and prices were all great. I also need to tell about how welcoming... More

The food was amazing, although it was very loud with lots of large parties. Not sure if I would go back.

The grilled fish was very nice. I don't think it's hard to do that well. The vegetable side dishes were absolutely boring and without any thought or creativity. I was annoyed hearing the servers (ours and others) saying constantly "and tonight chef is doing xyz, and chef likes to prepare the fish in abc way...". So pretentious. Chef Michael either... More

My son Emanuel works there and he insisted that I had dinner there, he was raving about the food, the atmosphere, the wines. A high-end establishment with a friendly open atmosphere, love and happiness oozes from everyone, Tatiana took me to the bar where animated conversation was happening between patrons and barman. They seem so happy to work there! David... More

We ate there tonight. I ordered swordfish, my husband had famous hogfish, and my daughter ate striped sea bass. They all were very tasty and delicious. We advise you try conch fritters. We always order them in keys.

This was my second visit to Chef Michael's. In my view, this is the best restaurant in Islamorada. We traveled from Marathon to eat there. The place was packed. We made a reservation, which I would recommend. They have a good wine selection and the prices are fair. They also sell beer. But you go to Chef Michael's for the... More

Hogfish is my favorite fish and chef Michael gets it fresh and gets it right! Fantastic selection of sauces and preparations, and other delicious local fish. The wait staff was very passionate about the place. Not cheap but worth it if you love fresh fish
