My husband and I stop here every so often for a drink on our way down south. We have never eaten there and for the first time looked at a menu on our last visit. When you charge $25 for an entree, $12 - $18 for appetizers. If you are going to be this type of place in the keys... read more

I spend half of my time in Ohio, and the other half on Plantation Key. We had been hearing radio buzz about the ramped up "new" Smugglers Cove...so another friend who lives near me, suggested we dine there. I will give it this...the new owner has put a lot of money into the look...The problem? The staff. We sat at... More

Surprisingly good fish food and excellent service. The location is perfect being at the water in the shade of the noisy road. Worth to stop over.

Lousy service, dry $15 fish sandwich. Last year Smuggler's was a must do, this year a must avoid. The place was empty and it still took the server 5 minutes to get to us. She dropped off the menus and then disappeared for another 5 minutes. The fish sandwich I'd had in 2014 was comparable to Craig's but this year... More

I was looking forward to a good lunch when my husband and I went to this restaurant shortly after they re-opened. The place looks nicer especially the outdoor patio, however, the menu was extremely limited and the service was horrible. I opted for the burger when I saw the menu choices because I figured they couldn't mess up a burger.... More

Went to the Smuggler's Cove Restaurant our last night in Islamorada with a promotion card from our resort. Got a free entree with another entree of equal or lesser value. BOGO happy hour beer and wine. Had my favorite brand of wine at very reasonable prices! Food was excellent. Staff and service was great. I tried the conch chowder and... More

Has a single padre menu with a little variety. Local musicians provide some entertainment. Unfortunately like a lot of places in the keys smoking is allowed and with the bar crowd it is pretty strong. Was enjoying my meal until the table next to me started lighting up and we were outside on the dock.

Went to the newly remodeled Smugglers Cove last evening for happy hour. Free drinks for ladies. Prices were (of course) great. Had the chips and salsa. Not very good. Salsa was sweet and chips were plantains and some other kind of vegetable chip. Would not recommend it.

Went to the remodeled SC...with out of state friends. Rather than describe everyone's meal....summary is that it's good...not great. Typical Keys food...nothing exceptional. Service was somewhat disjointed...but ok. Great boat access. Worth a try-

We've had lunch at Smuggler's Cove twice since they reopened under new management and have had excellent food and service both times. Staff was very attentive, atmosphere was very pleasant and food was great. We highly recommend trying Smuggler's Cove and will be back!
