Description: In the Florida Keys you'll find this old Keys-style marina and fish shack...
In the Florida Keys you'll find this old Keys-style marina and fish shack "somewhere on A1A." A true conch atmosphere with many tasty delights, here in this Florida Keys restaurant you'll find yourself indulged in the Caribbean-inspired cuisine, the compassionate people and old Keys tranquility that is the Hungry Tarpon restaurant in Islamorada. The building has been standing since 1947 and with a home like Robbie's of Islamorada, plus a fascinating history, it all makes the Hungry Tarpon a part of the tradition since 1976. Enjoy dining on our bayside deck with tiki torches lighting up the night. Relax with friends over our fabulous appetizers and watch the boats come and go. Stroll our open air shops then wander to our sandy beach, melt into one of our bayside lounge chairs and let the sea air wash away the rush of the day.

The Hungry Tarpon is in a great location. Dockside shaded by trees and with tarpon feeding and interesting souvenir market its a great place to stop and spend some time. The food is variable, both the mahi taco and the tuna taco were excellent, but the shrimp on the salad looked like the sort you buy frozen in the supermarket.... More

Chef Ben is turning out some of the best seafood I've eaten in quite a while. This is not your typical "deep fried" seafood snack bar. Pan Seared Scallops, Cracked Conch were all more than great. The Bloody Mary is almost a meal. We went two nights in a row. Next time we're in the Keys, this may be the... More

This is a busy place but well worth the wait. We went for lunch and had a table right on the water. The Mahi sandwiches and tacos were excellent the French fries are seasoned and tasty also. The Conch fritters were also good.

Great stop....Mahi tacos are fantastic. Tarpon feeding next door is a blast. There was live music while we were there Saturday evening. Sit and watch the water and the boats. Cool place.

Very easy to miss. Not really visible from the overseas highway. Where else can you dine outside along the water and see thousands of Tarpon begging for fish? Great chance to get a photo with a pelican.

You'll love the look and feel of this place. Service was attentive and the bar food was good. The should hang some oscillating fans from the rafters as it was quite hot - not a deal breaker by any means :)

Good news! We just got some new fans put up that make it nice and breezy. We also have our misting system set up again to cool you off as well. :) Glad you enjoyed your food as well as the good service. Don't expect anything less at The Hungry Tarpon! :) More

Trailer Trash Bloody Mary: Lunch in a cup! Please and thank you. First, I tip my hat to the plentiful variety of garnishes including 3 giant olives (one bleu cheese, one pickle-stuffed, one regular), peppered bacon, cocktail shrimp, celery, and traditional lemon/lime. The based used (not sure if they make in-house or use a mix) was a perfect, flavorful blend... More
