Description: In the Florida Keys you'll find this old Keys-style marina and fish shack...
In the Florida Keys you'll find this old Keys-style marina and fish shack "somewhere on A1A." A true conch atmosphere with many tasty delights, here in this Florida Keys restaurant you'll find yourself indulged in the Caribbean-inspired cuisine, the compassionate people and old Keys tranquility that is the Hungry Tarpon restaurant in Islamorada. The building has been standing since 1947 and with a home like Robbie's of Islamorada, plus a fascinating history, it all makes the Hungry Tarpon a part of the tradition since 1976. Enjoy dining on our bayside deck with tiki torches lighting up the night. Relax with friends over our fabulous appetizers and watch the boats come and go. Stroll our open air shops then wander to our sandy beach, melt into one of our bayside lounge chairs and let the sea air wash away the rush of the day.

Very good food at a great location

Five of us stopped at Robbie's to see the Tarpon and had a very good meal. The hamburgers were excellent with plenty of fries. The Mahi Mahi basket was very good with more fish than I could eat. Service was fast. Plus you get to watch as guests feed the hundreds of Tarpon spinning in shallow... read more

We've been to this place probably a half dozen times in the past year because we live very close by. Most recently, we were there on 5/18 and were really disappointed. The ambiance is nice enough. It's an outside, plastic chairs type place with a nice view of the water. The menu, specifically the prices, would leave you to believe... More

This review is specific to the restaurant part of the establishment. I called the restaurant at 4:30pm to confirm that they have a kids menu. The person on the other line listed all of the options. Great!. We were at the restaurant at 4:40pm. Walk up to the hostess and she tells us they are switching from lunch menu to... More

We serve soups, salads and appetizers from 4:30-5:30. This allows the kitchen the proper amount of time to switch all the stations from lunch to dinner. We always have a manager on duty, 7 days a week from 9am-9pm. Our mac & cheese is prepared with cheese on it. We can't serve it without cheese because it is pre-made..... I... More

The atmosphere is so tropical and fun. We sat right at the waters edge, watching people feed the tarpons while having one of there famous "Trailer Trash Bloody Mary's" and a to die for bowl of Lobster bisque. We enjoyed it so much we made a point to stop on our way out of the Keys. Our overall weekend I... More

Doesn't look like much but the food here is top notch! Breakfast-Lobster Frittata is amazing! Also tried the Crepes filled with lobster and eggs! Enough to share! Back for dinner and had the Diver scallops which were cooked to perfection! Hubby had the strip steak which he devoured! The Lobster Bisque is delish!! There is also the usual fish sandwiches... A friend recommended we visited this place and we loved it. The food was lovely, the service was prompt and attentive and we were lucky enough to be given a waterfront table, where we whiled away a couple of hours, watching the tarpons and pelicans competing for fish scraps thrown into the water. A very laid back, relaxing eaterie.

What a spectacular stop on the trip to Key West. The food, service and especially the al fresco dining was great. Another sample of Key Lime pie more than met the standard. It was very entertaining to watch people feeding the tarpons. Watch out for the Sea Gulls... they bite. Restrooms were kind a funky, so use the ones at... More

The Hungry Tarpon is not a fancy restaurant but they do provide delicious food. The fish meals including the scallops were all very good to excellent. The soups and salads were all great, especially the conch chowder. The key lime pie is top notch. Enjoyed the location and view. We will definitely return.

The atmosphere and the staff as well as the resident coming in for a glass of wine or beer at the very funky outdoor bar made our stay absolutely magic, We looked for something different and not tourist polished, we found warm people, lots of laughs, and the manager whom I believe is named Michael is a great person, as... This is not fancy but delicious food. Make sure to save room for the amazing key lime pie, buy a t-shirt to commemorate your visit, and be sure to feed the tarpon before you leave!
