happened upon the Green Turtle by accident one night on our way back to Key Largo from Key west and how lucky were we! Staff were great - knowledable, efficient and very friendly. Food was delicious - I had fish with almond crust -gorgeous and my husband reckons the steak was one of the best he has ever had -... more

My fiancee and I went here when our favorite restaurant for breakfast was closed today. We live in the Keys, and thought we would try a new place out. It was fantastic. Very friendly host, who told us it would be the best breakfast ever, and he was right! I had the omelette with yucca hash browns (which were amazing)... more

I have found memories of the Grenn Turtle when I was a child in the 1970's. My parents friends had a home that they would let us use from time to time and The Green Turtle was the place to go for dinner. Four years ago my husband and I took our first trip to Key West and decided to... more

We live locally here in Islamorada & had eaten at the Green Turtle on 2 previous occasions in the last 2 months. Today(June 27th) was a real let down as soon as we entered. The host was very lackluster in his body language. He didn't actually greet us & dropped the menus on the table for my wife & I... more

After hearing mixed reviews of the Green Turtle Inn we decided to try it and are very happy we did. The food was wonderful. The scallop appetizer was very good. mI am no turtle soup expert but it was kind of bland - it did come with pepper sherry which added a nice kick to it. The brasied short ribs... more

Lunch here yesterday. Two of us waited 45 minutes for 1/2 pound of boiled shrimp each. And the place was not crowded. Did they run to Miami for the stuff? Key lime pie for dessert was not Key lime _anything_. It was plain cheesecake in a pie mold topped with Cool Whip. Yes, Cool Whip. Local institution recently renovated and... more

We were last in Islamorada two years ago, when the Green Turtle was still being built. We thought the neon sign of the swimming turtle was cool, and made a mental note to come here the next time. In December was our "next time," and were going to try Morada Bay. But the evening was windy, and we thought a... more

Had lunch here on the final hours of our Florida trip. The Conch and Turtle chowders were superb. Service was good and the brownie dessert we shared was the best of the holiday. Am only sorry I couldn't go for dinner. more

This restaurant has a nice 'shacklike' quality. They make a great turtle soup and at the time I went they were making this rum cake that is still one of the best desserts I have eaten to this day. more
