The original location of the infamous Hemingway hangout- Sloppy Joe's- this bar delivers exactly what one would/should expect from a watering hole that is older than anyone you have likely ever met. It's rugged, non-nonsense, and it attracts a parade of characters that keep the ever "Disneyfying" island interesting. I love it so and I hope that I can return... More

Stopped in to have a beer as it was described as a must see attraction. Hardly another soul in there. One of the dirtiest bars I have been in. Smelled or smoke and stale drinks. So much dust on the stuff on the walls and ceilings that is was gross.

You have to check this old school place out when you visit Key West! It is laid back with good singers and a cool staff!

Stopped in for a drink, and to buy a t-shirt. The place has been around a long time - an amazing collection of dollar bills, caps, and underwear tacked to the ceiling.

First off, the music is always good! The servers and bartenders are almost as crazy as some of the patrons. The place is a feast for they eyes as much as the ears. If you find yourself in Key West, make a point to stop in for a beer...you will leave with a smile on your face, guaranteed! So much... More

The bands are always great. But the amount of stuff on the walls and ceiling is crazy. One match and poof a little scary. The bathroom is seriously scary but when you gotta go...now don't get me wrong it is a fun place but it's a risk reward kind of thing. Judge for yourself.

...But this is little more than a t-shirt and souvernir shop. They claim to be the original Hemingway drink-place and I expected a place where old salty sailors and ruffians alike could enjoy a cold one.
