This is a favorite restaurant of ours when we are visiting Key West. The food is delicious, satisfying portions, and tastes authentic. The service is always good and it's in a popular location in Old Town - right by Mallory Square, so you can enjoy a good meal and then enjoy the sunset celebration!

Our 2nd visit was even better than our 1st a year ago!!! This is a must-do for food in Key West as the variety, quality, prices, service, music, and especially the atmosphere is unique and wonderful. Our party of 4 loved their food, we never felt rushed, and were able to tour around this large place seeing all the terrific... More

Just by chance as we were walking around Mallory Square before sunset and it was supper time, our small family had dinner here our first night of our delightful week in Key West. Terrific food -- we wanted to try Cuban food and we were well- advised -- lovely location under the patio looking in to trees or looking over... More

Right off Mallory Square - The appetizers were incredible - chicken wings and fried cheese with chorizo. Huge portions and I brought my shrimp entree back to the hotel for the next day. We sat outdoors near the band and watched people dancing. Such a fun atmoshere.

Dinner at this place right on Mallory Square. We started with appetizers of tamale and guacamole. I had the combo plate of ropa vieja, picadillo and lechon asado with rice, black beans and carmelized plantains. Others in the group had black bean soup, grouper, seafood chowder and rice. All tasty. The frozen margaritas were good but a mojito was very... More

Love this place. Be prepared to spend about $100 though with drinks and meals for two. We sat outside and there was a live Latino band playing across the road. The ambiance was by far the best part, but the authentic food was amazing, too. I can't remember what I ordered, but I was a little taken aback when it... More

Typical cuban restaurant in the heart of the old part of Key West. Close to Mallory square and the main docks, it offers typical cuban food served by cuban waiters (great to practice your spanish!). Plantain nachos served with typical caribbean style salsas, great conch fritters are some of the house specialties. Presentation of the plates is rather plain, but... More

Never thought I'd have one of my best seafood experiences at a Cuban restaurant-the fried whole yellowtail was awesome. If you like garlic and onions on your fish, you’ll enjoy this selection. I can't remember how many pina coladas I drank but they were probably some of the best flavored coladas I've had (it did seem kind of pricey). The... More

We finally tried El Meson De Pepe after always being afraid it was a tourist trap. I am sorry but the food was average to poor at best. we had 3 dishes and all were the same, just blah. The beef and pork were flavorful but dried out. I agree the mojitos are very good and pack a punch and... More

Wonderful dinner experience at Meson de Pepe: perfect location next to Mallory square, amazing atmosphere, live music, friendly staff. Food was good, lot of different options and reasonably prices. But the best part for me was the perfect mojito! It had been a very long time since I drunk such a great mojito, so do not miss it!
