Now I need recipes to make my own Toasted Coconut Mojitos, Hawaiian BBQ Pork and Hula Girl Pie:( The Lower Keys already misses Kaya Island Eats' delicious Asian-Pacific menu!

As of May 30th this establishment has closed under the ownership of Scott, who ran an outstanding restaurant. It is scheduled to reopen in July 2015 under new ownership. Jury is awaiting.

I was expecting a little more from this place. I got the steak and it was very thin. The mash potatoes were so so. The décor was nice.

Kaya closed May 30. Sad, but perhaps something almost as good will replace them. Best wishes to the new owners and the old owners in their new venture.

We visited Kaya Island Eats because it was open later than neighboring restaurants, but were pleasantly surprised by the food. The shrimp was excellent, the Mahi-Mahi was great. The pesto was good, but not excellent. We had a Rosemary grilled cheese for an appetizer and it was presented nicely and very tasty. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I... More

We visit the Keys every year and Kaya Island Eats is always out first stop. The bad news is they are closing. Look for it to re-open on the Coral Gables area, hopefully soon.

After enjoying the good food at Kaya's for some time, we just learned, on our last visit this week that the owner has sold the restaurant and is moving to Miami. New owners will take over at the end of May. We wish him and his family well and look forward to finding out where he eventually lands.

We stopped in for dinner on our way back to Cheeca Lodge from a day trip down to Key West. We were promptly seated, and had a delicious dinner. The waitstaff were all friendly and attentive and took great care of us. We'll be sure to visit again on our next trip to the keys.
