Based on other reviews, we stopped at Kaya Island Eats on our way back to Marathon after a day trip down to Key West. Location: Kaya Island Eats is located just north of Key West on the ocean side of Overseas Highway facing water on the bay side. Perfect sunset watching location! Atmosphere: Great photo opps in waterfront parking lot... More

We had the grilled cheese for grown ups, truffle mac and cheese with blacked shrimp, coconut curry rice bowl with chicken and ahi seared tuna! The food was outstanding, unique, bursting with flavor and eccentric! Kaya is the best in the lower keys, hands down!! The owner Scott was hands on and present. The whole evening was magical! Bravo Kaya... More

I've driven past Kaya Island Eats many times not giving it a second thought. It's an unassuming place on the side of Overseash Highway that's not difficult to miss. What awaits inside, though, is a culinary delight that is unlike anything around these parts - and rivals best food elsewhere. Every dish was so good, I was ready to go... More

Recently re-connected with family from the west and agreed to meet at Kaya Island Eats very near Sugarloaf Inn where they were staying. Once at our table, we were greeted and waters were poured. Prices are descent, the views spectacular and the service was very good! Arugula Salad was perhaps the best plate. Crabcake much too large without enough crab!... More

About the Florida Keys, you have to know that distances are measured relative to Mile Zero in Key West. This restaurant is at MM 14.5, that is, 14.5 miles out of Key West. It's a world of difference. Find it on the east side of the road near Baby's Coffee. You wouldn't know this was a gem from the parking... More

I've eaten there twice now. Wonderful service -- courteous, friendly and attentive -- and atmosphere (great view of the water from the dining room) and fantastic food. The jerk wings drizzled with goat cheese is a fantastic appetizer and filling as a meal itself. Plump wings, well seasoned. The Cuban pork (my main meal) was tender and well-textured. The sides... We had a wonderful meal, and not near as pricey as in Key West. Atmosphere was casual and okay. Service was okay. We will go again if in the area.

I love the food at Kaya, it's one of my favorite places, but my most recent experience made it even better. Since I've just started a diet, I asked for nutritional information on one of the ingredients in my salad. The waitress say she'd check for me and a few minutes later the owner came out, not only to tell... More

The Caribbean style menu makes this place stand out from the rest and the quality and presentation is 5 star. The owner Scott, who is also a chef, makes his customers feel special. He makes sure he says hello to everyone and ensures they are enjoying their meals. Special dietary concerns are his specialty and he will personally whip up... More

My wife and I were on our way to key west for the first time. We were little bit tired and hungry. We were driving for hours and wanted some good food (not fast food) then we saw Kaya island eats. There were no wait so we got set right the way. Service was very fast. We got our tuna... More
