The mixed Cuban was a great sandwich. We tried others but Sandy's Cafe was definitely the best. We walked up ordered and ate at the small counters right by the laundry mat. My 3 children 7,10, and 11 thought it was a great experience.

If you're looking for a good meal that you want to grab on the run, stop here. The food was good, you order at a window outside and its ready in about 10 to 15 minutes, not much seating outside though. The best part about this place is its open 24 hours!

Sandy's was recommended by our Motel clerk but she gave Us the heads up that it would most likely have to be brought back to the room. Upon arrival we saw why. There were 9 bar stools around a counter, on a 9x3 porch area. The breakfast was good, but it took a while to get our order (lots of... More

Hugh Cuban sandwich...about 3 inches thick. Buttery Cuban bread, pork roast, ham, mayo, mustard, lettuce and a pickle, and skinny crispy fries. $8. I could not finish this monster. There are even roosters to clean up the pieces that fall from the outside counter with the wobbly chairs. Oh, and you can do your LAUNDRY while you eat. This sandwich... More

OK, it is difficult to tell people at home that one of your best meals in Key West was in a sandwich shop attached to a laundromat on a busy street. And then you need to tell them about the chickens eating crumbs around your feet. Maybe we don't tell them. But for Trip Adviser readers willing to try something... More

I found it too greasy. I strongly preferred the Cuban sandwich at Five Brothers as it was more structured, the bread was better, and it wasn't a greasy mess. This place, while decent, I wouldn't return to.

Keep in mind they only take cash. The wait time after you order is usually a bit long and the sandwiches aren't really what they are cracked up to be, the bread was soggy and I hadn't even ordered any sauce on it. I've also had the steak a few weeks ago and it didn't have any flavor to it... More

Ask any conch in Key West for the best Cuban sandwich and they'll send you to Sandy's. If you're in old town best to take a cab or ride your bike. Low key, take out only - some small tables and counter available to eat right there. Worth the visit

We stopped by and made this our dinner on our 3rd day in Key West and was amazed! The Cuban and the Sandy were simply great! It is off the beaten path and isnt your typical tourist restaurant but that is part of what makes it great. The staff was incredibly friendly and thanked us for visiting more than once...true... If you are fishing or want a great start to your day, Sandy's is the place. Hole in the wall with great breakfast and lunch options. Egg, cheese, sausage wrap was delicious. So was the Cuban sandwich. Didn't catch any fish but was well fed. Supposedly the best Cuban coffee in town. Service with a smile
