Thai Island is a large waterfront Thai and Sushi patio restaurant that opened Valentine's Day 2008. Thai Island's menu contains one of the largest selection of fine fresh ingredients: including locally harvested thai herbs and spices combined with local noodles, meats and seafood used in preparation of traditional thai dishes. In addition to onsite dining, Thai Island also delivers to all locations within Key West as well as on Stock Island. Also on the same property and at this waterfront location is the newly renovated Barrelhead Bar, which is the site of the 1989 filming of the James Bond "License to Kill" movie, starring Timothy Dalton. Enjoy happy hour with our locals: including our experienced boat captains.

Good Thai in the Keys

The food had good flavor, which is hard to find in south Florida. We had Phat Ka Pao with veggies and the Choo Chi Special with Hog Snapper. Desiree, our server was very knowledgable about the menu and super friendly. I would recommend Thai life if you are looking for decent thai in the keys.

Thai food in Key West sounds like a risk but the only risk here is sitting outside on the deck (it is sometimes windy) or choosing inside with no view of the water. It's casual. The food is very good. Thai Island has Great Appetizers and very good Pad Thai ... a classic Thai dish. Not all other dishes are... More

I've eaten in this place and have ordered delivery from this restaurant over 20 times. I've never had any problems and always tipped over 20%. This time I noticed a short piece of hair on the rice on the last sushi roll I was eating. When the waiter came back, I asked her in a very respectful way to take... More

We were staying at the Navy base townhomes and this little gem was right across the street. We sat upstairs outside overlooking the water and ordered some Thai appetizers, sushi and a couple of Thai main dishes. Everything came out great. The curry puffs were very tasty, the chicken satay very authentic with nice flavor, the vegetable roll was very... More

The worst Thai food I have ever tasted! In fact, there was no taste. This is like taking the Thai name in vain. It really shouldn't be allowed! All of our party had different meals, and none of the dishes tasted good or looked attractive. It was almost like Thai McDonald - fast food à la Thai. Although the prices... More

Thai Island is located on Garrison Bight, on the second floor overlooking the Harbor! The food is just as good if not better than any Thai I've had in Chicago. The staff is very friendly and the sushi so fresh. The Saki went perfectly with my soft shell crab stir fry. My friends "B6" spicy tuna binto box had a... More

I would look for another place if you want to eat good thaifood. The only reason to go there, is their outdoor deck. Our tip would be to limit the menu, as they have way too many options and they have proved that its not possible to make all of those dishes to satisfaction. Stay away, unless you prefer to... More

Because of Key West's reputation for drunkenness and partying, I figured finding good sushi would be a long shot. This place was about a ten minute walk from my hotel and I was very pleased. The ginger salad was the best I've ever had. The dressing was tangy and the chef put a few chucks of seared tuna in the... More
