Good food and definitly a local spot

My wife and I went here because we'd heard some about it and it was close to our motel. The food was great. But it's old and a little "tired" and a over-priced. It's like an old diner experience, but with a "keys" flair. Nice to experience it once, but I wouldn't do it again.

If you are looking for a chain restaurant with bland food and cookie-cutter "Keys" atmosphere, don't eat here. If you want excellent seafood (the fried yellowtail snapper is exceptional), good serving size, and good friendly service do eat here. We knew it would be good when we saw several locals having lunch. Key Lime pie was excellent.

Interesting entree choices, fresh food and a homemade vibe...I had the special (yummy pistachio encrusted fish entree) and my husband had a cast iron skillet mahi with smoked shrimp ...plus their key lime pie is a must for dessert

Everything about this place was great. Good selection of non-commercial beers. Best Key Lime Pie EVER!! SEAFOOD TO DIE FOR! And the service was perfect. The waiter was friendly very efficient and very attentive. He knew the specials and answered everything - I wondered if he was the owner or related because he certainly took great care to look after... More

Vegetarian here. We chose vegetarian and vegan options and we were unimpressed. I had a salad. It was okay, but I had 2 friends get the $20 veggy pasta and couldn't finish it. They aren't generally picky with veggie food but the noodles were literally plain. No seasonings or sauces on it. Looked nasty too. The key lime pie was... More

My husband and I saw this spot around lunch time today and were hoping we could get a fish sandwich there. We followed the entrance sign and seated ourselves (as there was no greeter) at a table on the patio, there were several other tables occupied. We were passed 3 times without acknowledgement by two different servers. At the 4th... More

Cozy restaurant conveniently located in median of Rt-1. It's here I got hooked on yellow tail snapper that I ordered at several other restaurants during my stay on the Keys. Oh, try Ballyhoo's homemade Sangria, it was very tasty and went well with the fish.

Great fresh fish, homemade biscuits, real lemonade. What more can you ask for? Portions are a good size, too. If it's in season, get yellow snapper with crab meat.

They advertise "all you can eat snow crabs" I called and asked if they had all you can eat Stone crabs ...when we got there, they ran out. We had a drink (sangria which was good). Conch strips of some sort which was horrible and left ..we then went to Mrs Mac's- where we should have gone in the 1st... More

Went for dinner for a special occasion and it sure was special. Small local feel with service you can not find very often. Our waiter was there when we wanted and out of sight when we needed nothing. The food was great. There is a reason the Key Lime pie has been voted the best. It is! It is a... More
