Beautiful setting, good food

This was not our first time here but it has been a few years. We sat outside on a windy but sunny day. We enjoyed the birds, parasailors, boaters, and waves. We started with a volcano, yummy. We also had the bang something shrimp, good but a bit pricey for an appetizer. We each had a fish... read more

We wanted to go out for seafood we went on line and saw The Fish House and Sun Downers we drove past The Fish House and the line was out the door but we walked right in at Sun Downers. That was a red flag. The staff were pleasant but food was not that great. Hickory smoked cauliflower was greasy... More

We had dinner here on a windy evening. So even though we did not get to enjoy the sunset from the waterfront patio, we had a pleasant and warm view from our table. The staff was friendly and showed us to our table right away. Probably would be more of a wait on a warmer evening but there was a... More

Book an outdoor table for sunset and enjoy the view over the bay. The food was good (not great) and the service was very good.

We had lunch on their patio overlooking the bay. It was great watching the Tarpon swim by, the Pelicans begging for food, as well as the parasailing tourists, boaters and jet skiers. The patio was covered and a gentle breeze made it very comfortable. We had Lobster Bisque, Fish and Chips, and a Cuban Sandwich which were all excellent. They had... More

We had a great dinner at Sundowners. It was recommended by the Florida visitors center as a great place to watch the sunset. They were correct. The sunset was gorgeous. We enjoyed some music from the bar next door while setting on the patio. I ordered a key west sunset drink and it was perfect. The waiter( Brian I think)... More

First time at Sundowners for us as well as a couple from Michigan we had met last year in the Keys. A very pleasant place to dine with a beautiful view of the Gulf. The dinner entrees appear to be expensive, as is the case at any better restaurant. We ordered from the sandwich menu and everyone seemed pleased. One... More

Ate here twice, Lunch and Dinner. Great choices at reasonable (for the Keys) prices. The service was very good, friendly and timely. Altered the contents and cooking style of menu items to suit our tastes. And the view will keep you sitting there for one more drink/dessert than you intended.

We had a sunset dinner here. The ambiance is classic Keys. The menu is varied, lots of meats and fish options. We were even provided a separate Vegetarian Menu with all the courses! I had a pasta cream dish which was lovely. Don't miss the deep fried olives appetizer -delicious!! The drinks are well made but pricey -2 Southern Comfort... More
