Take Card So,und Rd in Florida City (going South) + drive what seems like forever thru the mangroves, out in the middle of nowhere, + there it is, Can be buggy but sit in front of the fans +/or they'll supply you with bug spray. Friendly, rustic, old-Florida atmosphere. Enjoyed by locals + tourists. Music on weekends. We got the... More

We had the sampler for two people, which was enough food for three and possible four. Fried butterflied shrimp, fried dolphin, peel-and-eat shrimp, conch fritters, and crab cakes came with three sides. The conch fritters were large and doughy, more like a funnel cake than a hush puppy. Skip the lemonade, which I thought might have been homemade but was... More

We only had the pleasure of eating on the road by our car since we had our 2 pugs with us and Alabama Jack's does not allow dogs (even though it is an outdoor restaurant)...? However, the conch fritters were amazing. But we all know that by now right?? I want to know why no one points out that the... More

AJ's has always had the best conch fritters anywhere. I've been coming for years. It's always a stop when in the keys.

The welcome to the keys tiki bar atmosphere. It is a very open-aired bar/restaurant right on the water. You can see the fish swimming around as well as the boaters. We had to try the conch fritters. They are more like pancake style than the little round bites you find elsewhere. There was quite a bit of conch in them,... More

It's not fancy, but it IS cool. My wife wanted to stop here because of Kathy Lee Giffords recommendation. New did, and it was with it. Food was very good, and the adult beverages were too (it was 90+ outside). It's on Card Sound Road out of Homestead. If coming from the north, turn east off Hwy 1 and keep... More

You must stop at Alabama Jack's if you are driving to the Florida Keys! Sure it is out of the way and can only be accessed via Card Sound Road (or by boat). a back route from the mainland to Key Largo but it is worth the detour. Alabama Jack's is one of those places you have to know about... More

First time here. Worth the off course trip at least once. View and atmosphere were very Florida Keys-ish The conch fritters were very good. Should have a special sauce other than cocktail and tarter sauce. Might come back

If you decide to go here, watch the time! I just assumed that they had "normal" dinner hours but they close the kitchen at 6:30PM. So we arrived just in time! I had the burger and it was really good. My fiance had the fried fish. He said it was pretty good...I think he is spoiled because we catch them... More

This is a favorite spot for motorcyclists. You have to take the Card Sound road to get here. It is definitely a nice ride. Food in this place is mostly fried, but really good. Seafood is fresh. I ate here twice recently. Smoked dip and dolphin sandwich the first time. Both were really good. Second time we went for their... More
