another manatee

A repeat on one of our favorite Florida resturants but everytime we go to Florida we stop at Alabama Jacks for lunch, we have been there 4 times and out of 4 times we have seen a manatee 2X. The first time there we saw a young manatee just swim slowly past us right off the rail of the deck... read more

This is not our first visit to Alabama Jacks, we have been there before. We love this place! The service is always friendly and prompt. The food is always great...we love the Fish Dip! The views are perfect. It puts you in the whole laid back, Keys mentality.

Glad we stopped on the way to Key West. Get there early for lunch if you don't want to wait on a long line. ( by 1pm the line was long) We had fried fish, conch fritters and crab cakes. The service couldn't be better but except for the crab cakes. The meal was okay. It's the service and setting... More

On a friend's recommendation we detoured from Rt. 1 and stopped at Alabama Jack's on our way back to the Miami Airport following a trip to the Keys. As a first-time visitor, I loved the drive out Card Sound Road. Remote, quiet, nature all around - very unspoiled. AJ's does indeed look rather ramshackle, but don't let that deter you... More

Always a fun stop entering or leaving the Keys. Go down Card Sound Road and it s right before the bridge ($1 toll). Fresh fish, best conch fritters anywhere! They close before dark because of the no seeums. Great place to spend some time.

You must stop by Alabama Jack's on your way to or from the lower keys....especially on a Sunday! The little old ladies have been putting on a show to live country music for nearly a half a century...clogging with gorgeous outfits, complete with petticoats, cowboys hats, boots, tap shoes, clogs...Absolute entertainment! The restaurant featured the best fish dip I've ever... More

This is our first stop as we enter the keys. A little off the beaten path but a must visit. The food is great, service is excellent even when crowded and the ambience is truly reminiscent of the keys. Place looks like a dive, but looks are deceiving. Try the famous conch fritter, fish of the day or Liam bean... More

First the wait staff was pretty rude. I can tolerate alot but they acted like they would rather not have any customers. We walked in with 10 people and someone said without even looking at us "sit where you want" because there is no table for that amount it left us to find tables to put together ourselves. Location is... More

This is a little roadside restaurant on the water with terrific fresh seafood. They have entertainment and it's a lot of fun.

After reading about AJ's but never hitting Key Largo during their open hours, we finally got to stop this trip and what a great dive bar! We got there on a Wednesday right as they were opening at 11 am and the tables filled up quickly. We had a table on the water and ordered a variety of appetizers. The... More
