Too Bad the Food Is Not as Good as the Setting

The view at the Rusty Pelican is about the best in town. There is no prettier place to see the sun set over Miami's world class skyline. I just wish the food and service were at the same superior level. I had the lobster risotto. The lobster was over cooked and this poor "whole lobster" had only... read more

My third time there and I was greeted like they did not care I made a booking. The hostess left without saying she was coming back and left us there with a waiter that looked bothered to help us. We sat outside and the restaurant had maybe 20 guests but the waiters all had an attitude like they were to... More

AAA guide book described this as a casual seafood restaurant with entrees ranging from $10-30. The restaurant was a bit more upscale than casual, although they did not ask us to leave when we arrived in shorts and t-shirts. The lunch menu consisted mainly of small plates, sushi and sandwiches. The seafood options were limited although the snapper entree was... More

Were at this restaurant a couple of days ago. View from the patio seating is definitely their best feature. I received the wrong order. They offered to change it but I didn't want to wait. Neither of us were impressed with our meal. Then when we were halfway across the parking lot on the way to our car, our waiter... More

Was really impressed with the delicious Happy Hour menu. We enjoyed the ahi tuna tacos, french fried avocados, sliders and calamari. The view was gorgeous and the server was fine. Valet parking was $6 or free parking was available. Get there early as the lounge is large but fills up quickly. Don't forget your camera.

Dog tooth snapper is phenomenal. Evening view of the city skyline is remarkable to say the least. Our service started slow but staff quickly swarmed us with excellent service. However you do pay a premium ,overall I will return.

I had an office function here with about 40 co-workers. The negative vibes started on the drive to the restaurant. One of my co-workers asked the driver if the Rusty Pelican was any good. The driver's answer was that based on people he picks up there it's 50/50 between greatest and worst experience ever. When we finally got to Key... More

The food was good, in fact, reasonable for this beautiful venue, but the acoustics are so bad in the restaurant that you can not hear the other people at your table or the wait person, without sceaming. Why not add some carpet or some "sound deadening" to make the evening more pleasant?
