My daughter, granddaughter and I visited the Crabtrap on a Friday night which was February 20,2009 when the island was quite busy. We did not have to wait to get a table which should have been our first clue. We ordered the crab soup and crab and fish burgers. The crab soup came which seemed to be made from watered... more

The food was great! Meal started with a free frish dip appetizer (coupon found in travel book), wonderful. My husband had the all you can eat crab and it was fantastic. I enjoyed a grilled fish that was recommended by our waitress and I loved it. Great atmosphere. Was like eating with family. more

The reviews rating this restaurant anything above a one star must have been submitted by the owners and their friends. We had the shrimp appetizer, a fish/crabcake combo and the soft shell crab. All of it was very poorly prepared with poor ingredients and the frying was done in oil that should have been changed long ago. Too expensive at... more

As a local, I hate to say that this is not a worthy eatery. It has its charm and is ok for a casual place to stop for a drink and maybe an appetizer. But the food is not really very good. The place is starting to show its age. Those french fries that the ther people mentioned are gross.... more

the ambiance of the restaurant was nice, the staff was attentive - but the food was expensive and crab was nearly non-existant on the menu. more

We ate on a Sunday night and were seated quickly after about a 15 minute wait. The waiter was great, the service was great and the food was exceptional. We had shrimp, which were fresh and so many I could not eat all of them. My daughter had the crab legs and they were great. Overall we had a great... more

Took 45 minutes to get seated. When we got seated up stairs, it smelled like piss! I was like wtf is that odor masked by Pinesol? When we got seated someone to the left of us had their order screwed up and they had to get the manager to fix the issue. Our waitress was a total sour-puss with a... more

My husband and I enjoyed a very good dinner here on a recent Thursday night. The place was very crowded, and the service kept up with the pace quite well. It has a rustic, very family-friendly atmosphere. I had an entree of grilled shrimp with cheese grits and hush puppies, all of which were excellent. The shrimp were tender and... more
