Outstanding Cuban Food!

You simply can't get any more authentic Cuban food than at a Carreta Restaurant. The staff is all Cuban and so are the chefs. I know what great Cuban food tastes like and they certainly don't disappoint. The Ropa Vieja and the Yuca were fantastic as was the Tamale and black beans and rice. Don't... read more

La Carreta has a take out window that was very busy at lunch time, as well as ample seating indoors for table service. They offer a variety of foods including typical Cuban foods and sandwiches, etc. I tried the "ropa vieja," which includes shredded meat, rice, beans and fried plantains. The flan, arroz con leche, and tres leches desserts were... More

Driving from North Carolina to Miami, after 10 hours of driving, I was craving for a good cup of coffee. As soon as I got to Kendall, I saw La Carreta and had to stop and get some. I ordered a Cafe con Leche and 2 croquetas de Jamon, Ham croquettes. Food is good and great coffee.

We went here based on AAA and Tripadvisor recommendations, and weren't disappointed. Nice service, nice authentic food.

We stopped in Kendall on the way back from Everglade and we decided to try out La Carreta based on reviews here. Food is authentic, well prepared and the service was friendly and all six of us agreed that this is definitively a place to recommend. The room was cooled just a bit too much for 5 stars

On February 2015 we visited again this great latin-cuban restaurant Every time we cross the sea from PR to Miami we have to visit this place. You cannot find a place where you can eat the famous plantain pie (pastelon de maduro) o amarillo like on here. So smooth, a lot of picadillo and superb black beans with rice. What... More

I just had to express my opinion in both languages because this is a Cuban/American restaurant t displaying a mixed environment which makes it unique and appealing to both the Hispanic and American customer. The food is healthy but most important to a demanding crowd, tastes super good. For some reason you feel good and happy inside the restaurant, it... More

Unfortunately, the girl who sat us was a little sullen, but the rest of the service was fine, and the food was pretty good. We both had roast pork. One was the usual roast pork, the other more like pulled pork. The Moros rice was great. Wasn't keen on the plantains, personally, but that's only my taste. There was nothing... More

We were greeted in Spanish and then English, but that is okay! We had a terrific dinner, I had something that I have not eaten in 20 years and it is still on the menu! Wow!!

There are a few La Carreta's in Miami, and this one I have to say is not the best. The food here never seems fresh and the service is always slow. The customer service itself is very nice, but they take way too long. I've had a few instances where the chicken or meat I had seemed raw. I'd rather... More
