The Mcleod House Bistro is one of our favorite places for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. The menu always has some very creative choices and the food is always delicious. On several occasions there has been a gentleman playing softly on a keyboard. Normally I don't like music during a meal because it intrudes on the conversation, but that... More

My husband and I were taken here for our birthday by our daughter. Had escargot (excellent) and Bruschetta (v. good)for appetizer, mushroom soup (unbelievably good) instead of salad, pork chop (good) w/potato pancake (ehh-not done enough) & braised cabbage (again..ehh)along with Chilean sea bass that was only so-so (according to my husband). Desserts were key lime pie w/mile-high meringue w/lime... More

Inverness is just a small town in Central Florida yet there is a quaint restaurant with great food. I can feel the love of food by the chef. Chilean Sea Bass was so well made and juicy, chef couldn't have done it better. Duck breast medium rare was quite good though I thought the sauce was too creative for my... More

We stumbled upon Mcleod House Bistro on our way back to Tampa after visiting Rainbow Spring yesterday and we were so delighted to find this place. Although we were dressed in beach clothes and with an infant, we were welcomed right away. We had a terrific server who was willing to cater to our food allergies with a smile. The... More

Great food. I love the scallops and spinach. They have great appetizers, and the key lime pie is worth the visit on its own. The staff is friendly and courteous.

If you have not visited the McLeod House Bistro in Inverness yet, you could be in for a real treat. We have dinned there over the years numerous times and it has always been a pleasurable experience. Granted, it is a bit more up-scale and pricey, than the usual run of the mill restaurants in the area, but the food... More

I like the room into room layout and I enjoyed the food that I had ordered. The layout gives you the feeling your eating in your friends house and you wonder how they learned to cook so well. The service was up to snuff and the price was equal to other local places that don't serve as well. All in... More

I visited family in Inverness for 10 days, and couldn't think of an appropriate hostess gift that would pack well. Mom said 'take them someplace nice to eat, they don't take themselves out'. So McLeod's is where I took them. The young waitress was very professional. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We lingered a bit, since it was... More

Have been reading about this place for awhile so decided to try it for lunch.Service was on the slow side, but the server was very pleasant. They ran out of iced tea glasses and served tea in wine glasses. Not okay. Food was okay, but not what I expected with all the hype. The noise level was up there in... More

We were impressed by the reviews, but disappointed by our dinner. The food was just average. My fish was overwhelmed by a creamy sauce and my husband's pork chop was way past 'medium.' On the plus side, the green salad was very nice. We were seated on the enclosed porch of old McCloud house. The table was metal; no table... More
