Don't be fooled by this restaurant's unassuming sign - it looks like a sportsbar, but Guppy's actually serves fine cuisine. We were directed to Guppy's by a local, so we hoped that it would be good, and we were rewarded with our experience. We ate on the patio, which has varying ambience depending on where you're seated. The menu is... more

My wife and I recently moved to the Tampa Bay Area. Althought I am a native Floridian and thoroughly enjoy seafood it is generally deep fried, served with grits, hush puppies, baked beans, and usually coleslaw. I researched Guppy's prior to commiting to an evening with friends from out of town. I did not want to go to a restaurant... more

We loved the food, atmosphere, service, and price. If you are near Clearwater, do not miss this gem. I have the Tuna Salad and my Wife the Shrimp Penne. All outstanding and we are tough to please. We then left the car with the Valet and walked across the street to see the sun set over the Gulf. more

My Wife and I were vacationing in the area and Guppy's came highly recommended by several friends we have living in the area. We decided to try it out and WOW! We were blown away! Truly some of the most fresh seafood we have ever tasted. We ended up eating at this restaurant 6 out of the seven nights we... more

There is not much to say except, awesome food, friendly service, very reasonably priced. Beautiful sun sets. The first time we stopped in at guppy`s we had to wait 45 mins to be seated. It seemed like a long wait but it passed very quickly with a walk on the beach. This restaurant offers call ahead seating which we used... more

Guppy's was recommended to us by some friends who have lived in Tampa for 30, and it's one of their favorite restaurants. We were amazed and pleased at the service and the quality of the food. Who would ever guess a world class chef would find his way to a small waterfront town. I can't wait to take my husband. more

I was a little disappointed there were few fish selections among the chef's specials, so I had a shrimp/lobster confection which turned out to be poorly named because the shrimp/lobster was actually poured on top of fish--exactly the sort of dish I was looking for. The dish was outstanding and very reasonably priced. The asparagus on the side and the... more

We were incredibly disappointed with nearly every facet of this experience, from the food to the personnel. It felt like a long-forgotten restaurant, despite its great address. My only guess is that this is a touristy area, so bringing people in the door (and not inciting a return visit) is perhaps most important. We're sorry we spent $20+ per entree;... more

We were staying in Belleair Beach first week of June 2009 and had to try Guppy's per the reviews here. We had driven by on previous days and it looked busy (& I had looked up their on the table reservations before going and saw how booked they were) so we called for reservations 7pm outside. We were immediately seated... more
