Good food but pricy.

The food was pretty good although my fish and my friends fish were a little dry, but it was tasty. The atmosphere is cozy but definitely far from fancy. I have eaten here twice with friends and most everyone enjoyed the food, the cozy atmosphere, good service and the singer. However, the prices are... read more

The service in this place is TERRIBLE. They keep you waiting for hours. Oh, I just found out why. They closed MONTHS ago. Too bad, too, because they had pretty good shrimp and oysters. But at least now you can find a place to park!

I love this place. It is very small but the raw oysters are my favorite thing and they are so fresh here and they serve them right with the appropriate condiments. The wait time for service can be a bit long on the weekends but the live music makes it enjoyable.

This is a great little spot and very popular with the locals. Not much to look at from the outside, and actually, we would just drive by without a second thought then one day after golfing, friends brought me there for a beer and snacks. Oh my, what a pleasant surprise. Beer was ice cold in frosted mugs and I... More

This is now called pirates cove, it is a small place and seating mainly outside, so if it's raining it sometimes shuts, we go here every time we are in Port Ruchey, the oysters are delicious and it is situated on the canal. There is plenty of parking and a dock for boats, even though it is on the road... More

The place has turned unto a dump. I have been frequenting the place for the last 10 years through its evolution of owners and it has reached a new low. I do not understand why this has happened because the place has so much potential. I could go on but what's the point. STAY AWAY.

Ordered raw oysters, which were good, however the bacon wrapped scallops were nothing to write home about. The tap beer was warm, and tried two different types. The waitress was attentive, and really great. The inside of "The Cove" is dark, and seems more like a garage atmosphere. There was live blues/jazz music outside on Friday & Saturday night, but... It was good. Been going there for 10 years. Now its bad . Oysters are small and they add more toppings to make them look better. Had a beritto it was a hambuger chopped up rapped in a flower tortia rice and lettuce 11.00.

Had hoped for more but since it was our 1st time we decided to be safe and just order appetizers and drinks. So glad we did! We ordered what they called spinach, artichoke & crab dip and potato skins w/ bacon & cheese. The dip was mostly spinach. No crab or artichoke found. The waiter said they 'grind it all... More
