Great steamed shrimp, fun atmosphere

We've been to Cedar Key Fish & Oyster Company (also known as the Freezer) several times on visits to Homosassa and have never been disappointed. Their steamed shrimp are some of the most tasty we've had anywhere. This visit I tried their clam chowder in a bread bowl for something different and it... read more

If you like good seafood, at reasonable prices, this is your place. It's a dump, paper towels on the table, plastic drink glasses, Styrofoam dishes and great shrimp. Cooked to perfection. Best shrimp I've hadin a restaurant.

The shrimp here are worth traveling for, however, THE IMITATION BUTTER is terrible !! The ambience is great, but, it is a single line for beer and food, and we had to wait 45 mins in line. Beer choices..not so great...Sierra Nevada and Sam Adams the only ones worth drinking...but we are from Asheville, and we are beer snobs. PS:... More

Had their stone crabs - most excellent! The sweetest I've ever had. Shared peel and eat shrimp with my party and they, too, were the best I've ever had. Husband had mussels, which were also excellent. The food was top of the line - only reason it got four stars instead of five is because of the atmosphere. It was... More

Great food, nice scenery, cold beer...and a kid's menu too. A longer write up is logged in under "The Freezer", since that is the way it was presented to us, but not all of the GPS programs recognize that name.

this is the second time I got to eat at the Freezer. we live a hour or so away, but it's worth the trip. we get there early before the crowd gets there, around 11:00. the prices are very reasonable, and the food is great. the clam chowder is the best I ever had. the shrimp is plump and tender,,,and...
