Restaurant/Bar in an old seafood freezer on the water where boats bring in their fresh catch. Amazing shrimp, fish dip and stone crabs. A lot of local controversy around restaraunt so it is becoming very popular.

YUM!!

Very, very rustic, but fun and interesting! The steamed shrimp was super fresh with really nice seasoning. I went at around 2:00 for lunch, no crowd at this time. You place your order at the back of the bar, they will call out when it is ready. If I lived closer I would go at least once a week.

We stop here for lunch, we were 10 people. The food was delicious and service was top notch. Our waitress was awesome. We add raw oysters (decent sizes) and sweet potatoes for appetizers. You must try sweet potatoes, they were delicious. We try their combo with grouper, scallop and shrimps. We also had shrimp stuffed with crab meat and taco... More

The crab legs are incredible. You don't get a server, though. Find a table and walk up to the bar to order. This can take some serious time when it's busy, so I highly recommend going on a slow day! The atmosphere is very casual, and we always have a good time there.

We came here after swimming with the manatees at crystal river! This place is crowded because it is where the locals know to come for fresh seafood. They don't offer much in the way of sides but their Salmon dip is awesome! And their Cole slaw is also pretty good! Their pitchers of beer are pretty cheap and is awesome... More

If I could give above a five star rating, I would absolutely give The Freezer a ten. It is by far my favorite place to eat in this area. In order to really appreciate your visit to The Freezer, there are a few things you have to know before going. First, you do feel like you are walking into a... More

We have been there several times and the seafood is great. Usually a packed house. You order your food, pay in advance and wait until they call your name. No wait staff, if you need more drinks or food you go back to order more. Clean your own table. But there is not any better seafood anywhere. Steak night is... More

This is very casual dining, only beer and wine. You must place your order, pay and your order is delivered to your table. Always busy

We were told to go here by local residents and we were not disappointed. It's not a tourist's restaurant by far but the food is amazing. As other reviewers have probably pointed out, they don't have a grill so there isn't your typical fries or other fried foods and it's cash only but there is an ATM there. I had... More
