Friendly staff, New Orleans atmosphere, good Cajun food, with more choices for those not inclined to eat Cajun style dishes. Didn't get to stay for the live music.

I grew up just outside New Orleans, so I know good Cajun food. Neon Leon's probably is the best I have had outside of Louisiana. If you are going to be with another 1-2 couples you want to talk with, do not go during the live music periods. If however you are wanting to enjoy the Zydeco music (Cajun Music)... More

We went here without a reservation (I recommend having one if you are going on the weekend!) and they sat us outside, which we were okay with! The food was excellent and came out fast! We ordered the bowl of craw fish and the bowl of jambalaya. It was excellent! We highly recommend this place and we most definitely will... More

My husband and I took a little day trip and ended up here. We arrived around 2:30 in the afternoon for a late lunch. We were greeted and seated by a very nice and attentive young lady (wish I remembered her name). We started with the crab cake appetizer.... yum! We both ordered our entrée were you build your own... Neon Leon's has my favorite jambalaya. It's roux-based and filled with lots of Andouille sausage, shrimp, and maybe some chicken. The rice is in a scoop on top that you mix in instead of the kind you get in the French Quarter in New Orleans which is rice with the sausage, boudin, and chicken mixed in, so mostly rice. And... Nice place to go for casual but good food. Of course the New Orleans cuisine is good (not the best ever, but good). The best thing on the menu though are the bacon wrapped crab stuffed shrimp. The stuffing is tasty with just enough green pepper to make it yummy. The shrimp were plump and cooked just right..not dried out.... More

We went there Saturday for my birthday diner. We didn't have reservations, but they found a table for us anyway even though the place was packed. It would be a good idea to make reservations.

My Husband and I went to Neon Leons for the first time last night. We go out to eat twice a month and always like to try new places. We have heard from several people how great the food was and the portions are great for the price. DON'T BUY IT!!! The place is very small, not big enough for the... More

We regret that this reviewer didn't enjoy their experience with us. To address their concerns we will start with the shrimp appetizer they complain was over priced and apparently not a large enough portion for them. Each shrimp is butterfly cut and wrapped around a large ball of blue crab stuffing and then wrapped with bacon. Each shrimp is aprox... More

I can't believe its been a year since we've enjoyed out last visit. Well, I'm here to say ... Leon's is still rockin'. Our group (14) arrived this past Friday night at 5:30 p.m., and lucky for us, we had reservations (highly recommended). New Orleans style atmosphere, from beads, great gumbos, jambalaya, and live Zydeco music, it's all here. If... More

It was recommended by our Capt from manatee tour. The restaurant is very good, reasonable prices, close to the river.
