Authenticity is the key for us at the Old Hamburg Schnitzelhaus™, and we strive to bring you the best in traditional German and Austrian cuisine. Our menu includes various versions of schnitzel, roasts, sausages, potato pancakes, brats and of course, German Gemutlichkeit (German hospitality). No question, we only serve the best German beers and wines.

The atmosphere at the Schnitzelhaus™ is like what Anna Maria Island is for Florida: Fun, laid back, simply “gemutlich”. Come hang out and enjoy yourself on one of the wooden tables or by enjoying a or two beers or wines at the bar.

Schnitzelhaus™ is the “Wirtshaus” where you gather with your friends, your date or even your grandmother. All are welcome, and all are encouraged to stay a while.

We, the owners of the Schnitzelhaus™, are proud of what the Old Hamburg Schnitzelhaus™ Team started bringing to the Island some 15 years ago. We want to keep their heritage and take the German spirit on Anna Maria Island up to new generations. So all will know what German food and spirit stands for in today’s world and what it means to enjoy a fantastic Schnitzelhaus™ night.

Terrific German place. Great people, great food. Service was slow for a while when servers were prepping several tables at once. Not sure who needs all that stuff. Had room for more beers. Will definitely be back.

While not a staple of our diet, we do enjoy a good German dinner every now and then. We have passed this restaurant many times here in AMI, but finally tried it this t r ip and both if us were pleased we did. My wife had the veal schnitzel with mushroom brown gravy, while I had the pork roast... More

Just a quick background, my Mom is German and I am half German, half American. It is very hard to get a good German meal outside of Germany. Let me tell you, this amazing place left me speechless. We highly recommend eating here. This is German food at its finest. The rouladen and sauerbraten is EXACTLY how mom, Oma, and... More

My wife and I come here every year on our Florida vacation. I had a feeling that there was new ownership because there were tacky bright televisions advertising their specials inside and outside the restaurant. It took away from the cozy and quaint German atmosphere we are accustomed to when coming here. The food was as good as the previous... More

Our party of four, in town from Ohio, first timers to the area, stumbled on this place. It is somewhat hidden in a strip all, like so many of these good locally run places. The place is clean and neat, greeted right away and seated quickly for dinner. The chairs are padded and have decorative pillows if the wood chair is... More

We came with friends and had a great time. Guess it is not a secret spot as it was actually hard to get a table without reservation. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. Will definitely be back.
