This place fills in for early bird and there is a good following. We have eaten the snails there and love the garlic. The other item is the dessert which we like to walk over and enjoy at times.

I wish I had read the reviews before dining here. We had doubts when we saw the outside and the inside was even worse. The linens were very old & dusty including the table cloths. Our bread plates had dried food on them so we sent them back. We didn't like any of the food we ordered. The calamari is... More

The first clue that this was going to be bad is the look of the restaurant from the outside. Then you walk in and the smell hits you - that wet-dog, moldy carpet mixed with frying food smell. We would have left but had a restaurant.com coupon, were tourist and unfamiliar with the area, and thought we'd give the food... More

Know as a local institution, but I'd never eaten there before ... escargot appetizer was good though the melted cheese seemed unnecessary (added nothing to flavor); dinner salad was basic but very fresh; entrees were roasted duck & lamb chops - both were tough & not very savory; also served with very sweet cherry glaze/gravy & that flavor overwhelmed everything... We went there for an anniversary dinner. We had escargot, pate, French lamb chops and schnitzel. The service was excellent and the food even better. You will want extra bread too! Save up your appetite for this place. Romantic atmosphere too.

I was curious as this restaurant had been there many years. Runs coupons in many papers in the area. So I asked my husband to join me for supper. Very old world style décor but charming. Family owned for many years. We were greeted and attended to by a family member and was informed Mother was in the kitchen cooking.... More

This is a small, dark and dusty looking place. It is as bad inside as it appears from the outside. It is completely over-prized for the quality of food we received and without the 2 for 1 coupons the prices would be a complete joke. I have been visiting the old world on many occasions but this restaurant is far... More

It's really a shame - I want to like this place. The food is pretty good, but the service is really bad. They may have been understaffed, but our waiter was near our table many times, and we tried to get his attention, but he was always rushed and didn't look out way. I ordered ride instead of pasta, letting... More

I returned with friends after a six year hiatus and found nothing changed. The interior is still the same with dust collecting stuff hanging everywhere (some would call this eclectic). They did have a good wine list which we partook of. We ordered snails for appetizers and the bread served was thin and too soft to sop up the juices... More

This is not a large restaurant, but it certainly is one of the best I've ever experienced. The prices are also reasonable, and the wines we had were excellent. The food and the friendly, helpful atmosphere will draw us back. This is a favorite after one meal. I had Veal a la Française, and my wife had Wiener Schnitzel; it... More
