3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014 NEW

Great outdoor seating on the water. Server was very friendly. Had the fried soft shell crabs that were fried in fresh grease and thus came out light and NOT greasy. We thoroughly enjoyed finding this "new" place. So why only 3 stars? We so enjoyed our first visit that we brought family members of 7 more adults the following week.........BIG... More

Located in the fishing village of Goodland, this is a restaurant that features a variety of fish dishes at reasonable prices. I had a fried Tripletail which was very good. The staff was friendly and efficient. The place had a nice relaxed atmosphere. Be aware that the speed limit on the road between Marco Island and Goodland is strictly enforced.

Goodland is a "unique" fishing village on Marco Island and this was a great place to soak up the atmosphere while enjoying a good lunch. The grouper sticks and fries was excellent. My wife's cheeseburger was tasty and cooked to order. The gluten free chocolate cake was very nice. Service was relaxed and friendly. Well worth return visits.

The marker 8.5 is under new management from the previous marker 8 at same location. We enjoyed really good grouper sandwiches....the Cajun style was better than the grilled or lightly fried. Fun atmosphere and much cleaner / neater than under prior ownership. Ask for the green chile sauce.

We ate there three times over a week and got to meet the owner/chief and all around good guy Mike. The youngest waitress was least accommodating but perhaps she was new to the service industry. The other two went out of their way to see that we had a great meal and everything we needed. The location is closer to... More

Goodland, Florida was recommended to us as an interesting place to check out. It's an OLD fishing village!! So we checked it out & discovered a great little place to eat!!! The 8.5 is small, but packs a real punch when it comes to good food!! We loved the seaside atmosphere & loved the food even more. We sat inside... More

Had a lovely basket of grouper fingers and sweet potato fries for lunch on out first visit to Marker 8.5. No frills. Beautiful dockside seating and views. Susan gave us excellent service. Bill total for two people for 3 beers, 2 grouper baskets, was $56. Average for Marco Island. Would come again!

So, the food was actually pretty good. The fish was fresh and favorable, and the orange muffins actually tasted like orange. Why the one star review then? One of the two handicapped parking spaces in front of the restaurant was occupied by a large metal cart with advertising on it for the restaurant. Said cart was chained down, making it... More

We went here for breakfast, and although it was beyond the breakfast time, we were still allowed to order from the breakfast menu. The sausage gravy was to die for. Great service. Loved sitting outside and being on the water.
