The food is wonderful! I like to describe the gnocchi as little pillows from heaven....Everything is so fresh and prepared perfectly. The wine list is very good as well. It is a very small place with a cozy, intimate feel. My husband and I have enjoyed a number of special and "just because" occasions at Manuel's.

Gainesville has a number of great downtown restaurants. We like to go after the Hippodrome theater performance. Manuel , himself, greeted us with a big hug and his son waved from behind the Chefs area as well. Everything is cooked fresh, from scratch, and in view. You see it and smell it and just love to eat it !

The food was good, but not great enough to warrant the price. Cozy to the point of claustraphopic. Almost $20 for gnocchi with no salad? Too pretentious for us. Noisy, very tight seating.

This small intimate restaurant lives up to its reputation. Out meal was outstanding, waiter helpful, owner stopped by to greet us and welcome us. I had pasta with shrimp and cream truffle sauce. My partner enjoyed veal porcini. We shared a chocolate dessert confection. We loved out meal and will definitely make a return visit next time we are in... More

This is a little restaurant that holds only about a dozen tables but the food and the service is outstanding. We had a table for six and everyone raved about their appetizer, dinner and dessert. Can't believe I have lived in Gainesville 3 years and only found it because it's number one on Tripadvisor.

Driving down from NJ and stopped I Gainesville for an evening. Found Manuel's on the net, and glad we did. Great little place with big taste. Don't miss it!

This is one of the two best restaurants in Gainesville, by far the best Italian, and has by far the best service of any place in town... or perhaps anywhere I've ever eaten. I first brought my daughter there when she was 7. Getting up to use the restroom her dress that time caught on the tablecloth and sent 3... More

Went there after a losing football game. It helped a lot food was excellent and service even better. It is pricey but well worth it. We had the specials and all were plentiful and delicious. We ordered the roasted vegetables to go with our dinner and they were very good.

Drove up for a birthday dinner with my daughter: a student at UF. Saw several highly rated places in downtown so parked and just started walking. Walked in with no problem early on a Tuesday night. Maybe 10 tables in this quaint place. Seated by the window and well taken care of by the serving staff. Our server plated tableside... More

If you find yourself in Gainesville and are looking for a good meal at a comparatively reasonable price- this is the place to go. It's head and shoulders above other restaurants in the area but on the more expensive side as you would expect. Figure about $35 a person for appetizers, wine, pasta, main course and desert. Service is excellent... More
