This restaurant is a real "find". Nothing fancy - be prepared for paper plates! However... the food is as authentic as it gets. And... where can you get a really good flan for desert for $1.50 ! We have never had to "wait" - fast, friendly service. Right across the street from the Gator campus.

This is the most authentic Latin restaurant we have seen outside of Miami. Although it is mostly Cuban, Mi Apa offers dishes from other Latin American countries as well. The quality of the food is excellent and the service was superb. We felt at home although miles away. It was amazing to find a true Cuban coffee or fresh Pastiltos.... More

My hubby and I stopped after a movie and he had the empanada and stuffed potatoes. He said they were good. I had the pamillo steak and out was with great flavor a bit tough though. The churros were good but not like what I am accustomed to. They were very fresh and served hot out of the fryer with... More

They weren't kidding about being the #1 Cuban sandwich in Gainesville. Pretty good Cuban bread and sandwich I have had in a long while. Theri empanadas an cuban coffee remain delightful. The restaurant has been nicely upgraded from how it was six years ago, but still remains a simple and casual place to enjoy good cuban food with good company.... More

Fast service! Great Cuban bread and Cuban sandwiches! Good breakfast sandwiches! Almost all their meals are good. It's a staple of mine for lunch and on occasion dinner. You'll be happy you checked it out.

Mi Apa is definitely not the best food around. It is very cafeteria style and the servers are so busy that service is a bit inconsistent. The food comes out fast, but once that happens, it's a toss up if you will have a server that checks in. And, the restaurant, don't know if it is because of the strip... More

They serve up the best Cuban food in Gainesville - everything is good. The lechón was delicious as was the carne asada. I wanted to try a batido de mango, but I was too full. I ordered a cortadito to round out my meal, and I was not disappointed. The service was excellent as well - if your interested in... More

Went to visit daughter for Mother's Day and I hadn't had a good Cuban Sandwich in over 10 yrs. Daughter is new to the area so we just Googled restaurants in the area and came up with this one close to the house. Sorry to say we were all very disappointed. Daughter had Veggie sandwich, son-in-law had Miami Sandwich and... More

My husband wanted to get on the road after bringing our son back to UF. I wanted a Mother's Day Brunch. My son took us to Mi Apa, which was very good (order the sausage and you get a really nicely sliced chorizo). When I went to UF, there was no such thing as good Cuban food - - Mi... More
