This food is awesome!

I wish Omar would open a second location near jonesville area. My husband and I love his food. The jerk chicken is spicy and delicious. Love the escovitch wings. Omar, will you please come to west Gainesville? We highly recommend this restaurant.

Can't believe it took me so long to eat here! This is definitely a new favorite. We had a variety of appetizers and meals, it was all very good. I've never tried Jamaican food so I can't comment on authenticity but I can't wait to go back. The service was friendly and prices reasonable.

The food was absolutely delicious and was fairly priced with big portions. I got one of the chicken traditional plates and had an entire meals worth of leftovers. The staff was nice and the food came out pretty fast.

WOW! I wish I could bring this place back to my home in California. The service was great, the decor funky, and the food delicious. If you like to eat spicy food this is great food. The jerk chicken was fabulous and the fried plantain was mouth watering. Loved it!

We stopped in to try lunch because we've heard so much about it. I had the boneless chicken curry and my husband had the jerk burger. The curry was amazing! My husband liked the burger but wasn't blown away. I will most definitely be back.

Every time I visit I'm faced with an unappealing change. Portion sizes have decreased, prices have increased, patties changed... The food used to taste more authentic and it has definitely gone down hill. Really disappointed my last visit when I ordered oxtas and the price had jumped up by 2 dollars and there was only 5 in the box. My... More

We decided to try something new while we were running errands in Gainesville. We saw the great reviews and decided to try the Reggae Shack Cafe. We were not disapointed! The food was fantastic and was served piping hot. They have a great vegetarian selection too. We will come back for sure. The only reason we didn't give it five... More

This was our first visit to the restaurant. It came highly recommended and I see why!! Andrea B the waitress was very knowledgeable and explained the dish I opted for( Calaloo and crab). My boyfriend opted for the boneless chicken curry. The portions were big and we both needed boxes. They both came with red beans and rice, a cabbage... More

The Reggae Shack is not to be missed. The food is outstanding, and the waitstaff friendly and helpful. I had an excellent lunch, with a variety of flavors, well prepared, and the bill was well under $10! I suspect the place must get packed when UF is in full session, so I will enjoy the Reggae Shack this summer. Some... More
