We were traveling north on 75 from Orlando..wanted to try something different.. WE SUCCEEDED!!! The Reggae Shack is a few miles off the interstate in downtown Gainesville.. GREAT Vegetarian Menu & AWESOME BEER SELECTION!!! I found a new favorite, CARIB!!!! Suggested by our waitress..My son tried the OX TAIL, he liked it, but said he wouldn't order it again, it... More

I always get the curry chicken. I've tried other things (oxtail), but always come back to the curry chicken. So tender and delicious. Gotta have the juice! Be warned that the burger is really yummy but enormous! Bacon, cheese and a stack of onion rings, with the fries, too! I loved it, but you better be ready for that.

This was a great experience. I am giving this 5 star for vegetarians and 4 star for meat eaters. They simply have so much choice for vegetarians and they normally don't get many exciting options. The meal was delicious. My husband had jerk wings - I still think of the taste. The vegetarians with us loved their dishes. I had... More

We love the vegan options here. If it were all vegan we would have given it five stars. All the vegan dishes are fantastic! Try the curried tempeh..... the steamed cabbage ......anything with jerk sauce is very very hot.

Been here before and the food was good as always. The jerk sauce is very distinctive and spicy. The service was a bit mediocre, the server didn't give it the extra effort that she should have. Would still go back.

OK, the food here is OUTSTANDING! The spicy jerk chicken is SPICY but really, really good. Falls apart, makes you sweat and cry but you just can't stop eating it. The other food is good too but the jerk chicken is really outstanding. Not so good if you are trying for romantic - ambiance is very cafeteria like but I'll... More

Whenever I crave ox tail stew or curry goat, I come here. The food is delicious and full of flavor, but be careful, some of the dishes are spicy! I love bringing friends from out of town here. Friendly service.

I love this place. The food is so fresh and delicious. If you're into spice order the jerk chicken. My husband loves it and gets it extra spicey... which is not a good idea for most. I love the escoviech tofu. It's very flavorful and just a tad spicey. Don't forget the vegan coconut mango smoothy to kill the spice... More

My husband and I were in Gainesville this past weekend for a football game and he wanted to try something just a little different than a chain restaurant. I was of course hesitant because I am kind of a picky eater. He looked the restaurant up on Trip Advisor and read the reviews and we decided to give it a... More
