LOVED THE FOOD!

If you are ever in Gainesville, FL stop by the Raggae Shack Cafe. This sleeper is a hit in Gainesville. I had the best veggie burger EVER in this establishment. The owner, Omar was so nice and we even took a photo with the chef. My friend had the Oxtails and she said they melted in her mouth! They... read more

Have absorbed hype about the Reggae Shack for years and finally tried for lunch. Food was good, but not knock-out good and the total for 4 was ~$50 for mostly burgers and snack food. The service was every bit as slow as I have been told, and it was not at all crowded.

Service is always good and polite. The food is always GREAT! When you say hot be careful, it will be very hot. Homemade desserts are to DIE for!

Step into this University Avenue storefront location for a taste of Jamaica. Painted in rich colors and decorated with posters of reggae stars from the island, the atmosphere is relaxing and laid back. On the menu are traditional Jamaican entrees including jerk dishes including goat and oxtail as well as rum cake - all flavors that introduce you to the... More

After spending two days in Miami, it turned out the best meal of our trip was at Reggae Shack in Gainesville on the way back home. We had the coconut shrimp to start. They were fine but the shrimp were a little small. I had the oxtail and my wife had the chicken curry. It was my first time having... More

Best food in Gainesvillle! Love it! I had the spinach and tofu; my friend had the same with crab. It was enough for two meals and soooo good--even warmed over.

This was a new cuisine for me and I loved it. So much variety and options, you can be as adventurous as you want. The staff was friendly, helpful and patient. As a patron who is no longer a college student, I would have preferred the music volume to be a bit lower, easier to converse. But the food and... More

Kind employees, colorful walls and reggae music greet you at the Reggae Shack. The menu is extensive and has a lot to offer for vegetarians, meat eaters and fish-lovers. The waiter was attentive, ready to answer questions and relaxed. The jerk chicken was excellently spicy and seasoned. The plantains were prepared perfectly and offered a nice juxtaposition to the jerk... More

My fiancé and I went here for lunch while we were exploring Gainesville. This was our first time trying Jamaican food and we were blown away. Our waiter was very kind and helpful in explaining the menu to us. My fiancé tried a mango coconut smoothie and absolutely loved it. I had a shrimp sandwich that was out of this... More

We are mostly Vegans and just loved the flavors of the curry tofu. Loved the cabbage and rice and beans too.
