Great downtown lunch spot. The gator cuban (traditional cuban but with a mix of shredded pork and beef) is worth a try.
Open late, great options. Offers both regular and sweet bread with equal opportunity carne and veggie options. Going through some recent menu changes, but they'll still make what you ask for, even if it's not listed. Extended the late night taco option into the day now. Always on point, always delicious. I've been coming here for over 5 years now,... More
That's the only thing this place has going for it besides its cheap and filling. The sandwiches are just ok but they all seem to have something missing or something added that doesn't belong. Haven't tried the pastries because the empanadas are so bad. To its credit, they do have good coffee, they just aren't open early enough to get... More
Downtown hub for the best Cuban sandwiches, pastries, and beer. This place is a small 5 picnic booth eatery that is full of the college crowd. The lechon with mojo sandwich was perfect on Cuban bread. The sweet plantains were quite good. Great spot for a quick meal.
I love going to Flaco's anytime i'm in Gainesville. My most recent experience was just as amazing as ever. It was late, past 1 am and Flaco's was slammed! The order took a while to make since it was a bare bones crew of one cashier, one cook and one backup/prepper but boy was it worth the wait. My Cafe... More
I absolutely LOVE Flacos. If you're looking for an authentic Cuban sandwich, this is where you need to come! There is an older Cuban lady who prepares all of the delicious food herself. I typically get a Medianoche but everything I've had has been delicious!!!
Flacos is open late many nights and they are convenient to the downtown area of Gainesville. While its not anything fancy, the food is good, served fast and not at all expensive. Cafe con Leche and Guava Pastry is great. Really good Cuban Sandwich. There is some seating, but we usually grab food and take it to go.
I went after a night out in downtown Gainesville. The line took about 10 minutes. The sandwich was delicious and totally worth the wait.
This has been one of my favorite places in the world for years now. Great food, great people, and great memories. Some of the servers (mostly one that I'm thinking of) can come off as rude, but otherwise, I love it. Best for lunch, and not during the busy dinner/post club hours.
The service at the place across from UF is a joke - a bad joke. The store is operated by unsupervised part-timers for whom this job seems to be a low priority. We had a series of problems with one simple order. But, the sandwiches were good. Worth it? Hmm, we will not likely go back.
